Nice one Charles. Time for neutral turns perhaps?

Fingers crossed they keep working!

Evening all.

I hope this video whets the appetite. The rattles will be the return rollers bedding in as HQ has suggested. Apologies for the commander falling over: Who's technically in charge of stowage?

We are learning.

This was fun to do, however, one of the motors failed before we could go round the circuit a second time.  :!:

Its not April Fools day is it??????

OMG, not again!!!

Do you know what the problem is? eg has the spring pin snapped or is the gearbox making clicking noises when it tries to turn? Is the motor getting power?

OMG  , this is very concerning Charles.
What is actually happening to the motor, Has the spring snapped on the output shaft? loss of drive through the gearbox? some thing else?

Is government inquiry required.

Had an e-mail from HQ.

So to be fair to them, lets see what crack is and take it from there.

Yes, it is very disappointing, chin up. :D

The motors are to be returned to HQ for diagnostics & fettling, thereafter, hours of fun to be had😀.
Cheers all.

This is all very nail biting. rather like who or what done it
A Thriller and not the M Jackson monster kind.
Not quite 'SHAMON! HEEHEE! OW!' But it is "Bad".
Thanks for the update. 8)

Been hiding in the workshop, very wet on Saturday.
Fitted the pannier sides during the week. I have been playing about with the turret fittings, dry fitting, filing, etching, etc.

Turret ring (lazy Susan) wasn't too far out compared to recent offerings. Turret is snagging rear deck, the deck is only sitting in place presently. I don't have the confidence as yet to perform the surgery I am seeing regarding rear decks as seen on other builds.

I am opting to file the turret, which dosen't appear to require very much, hopefully!

Looking forward to the motors returning, then onwards and ....can anyone supply a smoke effect for break downs, i.e. through the engine covers?

No disrespect intended, but would be quite impressive and realistic.

Cheers all

Filed turret and a temporary fit of back deck, turret spins beautifully. Back deck not quiet square so some adjustments required.

BTW someone needs a telephone!!

As Stephen has commented no one called him during his time on Chieftain, quite rightly if a high speed reverse was ordered. In my case our chap will be safe enough, my tank can't presently go in either direction (or up or down drrr me and photos).

test run 2ab.jpg
Evening all.

Progress, had a successful afternoon, muddy/damp ground session with new motors in No34, ran around for about 40mins and vehicle parked up in the garage under its own power this time. :D :D

Once again we were running at the lower speed range as we haven't adjusted the transmitter yet. Don't worry the video isn't 40mis long.

Charles.
