Always nice to see the printed results. They turned out quite well.

Your not wrong Adrian, should use a steady really but just skimming off the soft solder seems ok. Vince I'm very pleased with the printed parts and if I ever come across the ali kit parts I can easily change them out. 8)

The lower one, but if you want the crank to be left in, you will have to make the modification to the plate to make it horizontal, or you risk that every bypassing rivetcounter will embarrass you.

You are on such a high level anyway, or are you going to shoot this one up?

I'm going for the hl230 motor so which crank hole position do I use?
Page 40 of the Modeler's guide to the Tiger Tank gives a hint. For the HL230 (as I understand it), the hole closest to the edge of the starter plate is used for the starter shaft.

Thanks guys, reading up on the subject, when the hl230 was produced the manual crank starter engine dog coupler was slightly offset to the right compared to the hl210, hence the two threaded crank positions on the starter plate. The plate could then be used with whatever engine the Tiger had installed. I may need to enlarge the access hole in the rear plate.

My plan when Hermes, the most useless carrier ever decide to deliver my parcel from Kees in NL is to fit the panther sounds card, my reason, I'm just not keen on the 131 recorded sound. I really don't think that the Tiger would have ever made that din, the aftermarket fan drive gearboxes certainly don't help. So I shall fit it record a video and we can all decide! 8) should be interesting.

Nice work. Now you just need to motorise it so Hans acts like the bloke on Camberwick Green

My impression is that a step drill is used for sheet metal.

Will it work on the rear plate?

Should work if you attack it from both sides. Depends on the size of this step drill.
