On the weekend I decided to tackle the Turret roof
I wanted access to the BF whist without havening to take the roof on and off.
Also when I get some animatronics figures in the roof I could still get access without having to pull wires.
I have seen King Tiger with this done (Ritchie I think) but not on a Tiger.
So after getting some hinges and discussing with the other Tim
We are proud to present a joint T&T effort on my Lamborghini roof access
Looks like Porsche wasn’t the only one who worked on tigers!




It is held in place by a magnet and the Guide rods position it back to square when you are shutting it
I can hold it upside down and it will not open.
Further upgrades are roof rod to hold it up and at the back putting in the pin which will also help hold it down /in place.

I have now done the welds around the roof so I am pretty happy.
Here is the battery holder I made for the small 12 volt that will run the car amp and animatronics.


Done the Zimmerit then had to take off 2 side (hull) as I did not have enough hardener in the mix @#@$$%^%#
Great to see so many new posts on the forum, good luck with the Mid Tigers.
There is Ying and Yang in this world, should see my work shop compare to Ragnar I almost scared to walk into mine

What is the brand and size of the hinges you used?

Rocky – I went to our local hardware shop and had the idea of the hinge in my mind and I just bought the following units having just seen them there. There could be better ones around but these fitted the size well.
Brand: Prestige
Concealed Hinge - zinc plated
Code No: 531543
Measurements of the three stages are:
Length 35, 25, 37mm
Width 42mm

We had committed to a show on the 15th of May and I knew that I could not complete the tiger fully by then, so we just wanted to get the basics done.
Here is a photo taken at 11.00pm on Friday the 14th of May

This is loading her at 111.30pm



Here she is on the “battlefield “after knocking out the Stuart giving the house occupants a little headache. This was on the 2nd day out on the airstrip in front of about 1500 people plus.

When I get a chance more picture videos and report on the show

It has been a long time since I have done any think to my Tiger
But with the Air and land show coming up we thought we better get a coat of paint on it
So with 4 days to the show it went from a coat of yellow to below





I was going to try and post before the show but run out of time

Looks great. Camo makes a difference. Did you paint the numbers or use decals? Your posts where a great help with my current build especially the interior electronics layout which is often overlooked.
Would you mind telling me what paints you used for the camo pattern?
