Hi Fellas.
Thanks very much for you kind comments  .
Well managed to get the last few welds done today and fitted the rear convoy light to complement the excellent freebie lighting unit from Mark and Gill..thanks again for that.
With the light fitted that marked the end of bits to be added so finaly I started to get some colour added to the beast.
[Imageimg][/img]
This is just the pre shade that will help to give a deep shaddow effect when the main colour goes on top...
[Imageimg][/img]
I have been asked to paint this tank in a winter whitewash scheme, so my idea is to apply a very basic camo pattern first.... then the white... leaving bits showing here and there as though the tank has gone through part of the winter and the whitewash is starting to wear off a little, or at least thats the plan.
[Imageimg][/img]
this was also the reason for the grey primer I am hoping this will add to the grimy worn look I am after.
[Imageimg][/img]
With a bit of luck and a few hours this tank should start to take shape by the the end of the week so fingers crossed more pics to come.
Thanks again Paul.

Hi fellas.
I started with a pale 3 tone camo just very basic over which I have started to do the winter white wash.
[/img]
There is still a long way to go as I have been asked to make it quite a bit "whiter" as though it has just been done, I have also painted the sides of the hull that will be covered over by the side skirts, and tried to give the impression of rusty/muddy and blackened steel?
[Imageimg][/img]
A similar effect has been added to the missing zimm areas but I have included a bit of red oxide colour as well.
All these areas need further washes and highlighting but I think it is starting to come together now.
[Imageimg][/img]
Next thing is to whiten up some more here and there then fit the tow ropes back on and get the skirts re fitted.
[Imageimg][/img]
Then the wheels can go back on as well, I have painted the wheels and intend to leave them dirty colour to reflect the ever present mud.
Coments most welcome.
Cheers Paul

Great photos Paul. :D

It's good to see the stages your tanks go through to get to the finished paint job - just goes to show how much work goes into the painting

I'm sat here waiting for my laptop to synchronize :?

What's the temperature up there like :?: I'm waiting to prime some of the Sherman parts but we're still scraping ice off the windscreens in the morning down here

Hi Paul,

Another great paint job 8) As Adrain says it really shows how much time it takes to get great results. Loads of patience which I just don't have. I always want things done in a rush which is why I don't bother ....... for the time being  .

Is this KT staying up North so I can see it next to my Panther or is it heading to battlefields afar :?:

Thanks Ant

Hi Antony.
It is destined for battlefields in the midlands mate so probs will never see your Panther shame that it would have made a good picture  .
Cheers Paul.
