Hi All,

Change of plan today.
Watch all the panther builds, and very impressed with the progress.
I've dry built the turret as a few members mentioned they had issues with fitting.
On mine the 2 curves on the base are to tight stopping the side panels pulling in tight all the way along.
And on the mantelet fitment it appears to be slightly offset on the right is this correct?

Cheers
Gary
Hello Gary.
Yes, I used an electric sander to change the curve a little on the 2 aforementioned spots.
I did try Brain Ostlind's method too before changing the corners, but that somehow did not make a significant change in the gaps.

The mantled has indeed a little offset on my model too. It appears to be correct, but it looks a little 'odd' from an aesthetic/symmetrical point of view.
See the (excerpt) below. Picture was made by Rini Koks of the Samur Panther.

Hi Ed

The corrections were Thankfully an easy fix, I will fill/weld bead the small gaps left
Thanks for confirming the offset on the mantlet.
You're build is looking superb, very fast progress.

Cheers
Gary

Hi All

Seeing as been working on the turret might as well cary on..
So dry fitted spare wheels and track links.
Bit of pain with all the shapes of the turret.

Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary,

I like the spare wheel on the turret, however i would either change the buttonheads for hex heads or put the buttonheads on the back and the nuts on the front.
Last thing is the real thing.

Keep it up,

Riny Koks

Hi Riny

Many thanks for the support, I realised when I had them machined down that they didn't look right hadn't got around to changing them.
Another job to add to the list.
Watching your build looking really good.

Cheers
Gary

Hi Stephan

To be honest I'm not going to build this detail into the wheels.
The nuts and bolts are oversize compared to the real ones.
This picture is the other way round but gives you an idea on size.
I think by adding the steel nut retainers will make it look even more oversize.
I don't think anyone with the latest release has added this detail, however I could be wrong.

Gary

Hi Riny

They look superb, however I would be concerned that the nuts are not really getting much bite as they are not much bigger than the bolt holes.
