Hi All

Got completely distracted and ended up building the smoke unit
The alloy case needed filing and part number XSM009 part that holds heating element and screws into the casing was oversize and wouldn't fit.
So filed it down and rethreaded it.
What smoke fluid are you guy's using as there is nothing mentioned in the manual.

Hi All,

I took my 2 spare wheels to my local engineering company.
Very happy with the results.
However for the cost of getting the other 32 cut I'm wondering if it's worth putting the money into buying my own lathe.
I've seen them from £100 to thousands.
What would I need if I were to buy a lathe to skim the wheels and do other cutting type tasks?
Something preferably reasonable quality and not to difficult to use any help greatly appreciated.

Can you check if there is a model engineer society in your area. If there is you can give them a visit and ask if there is anybody willing to do it. It's not a big job to do the wheels and can be done with a lathe (with the right capacity) or even a milling machine.

Hi Vince thanks for you're suggestion, to be honest I'm happy to pay the engineering company.
I looked into lathe/Mills not as straight forward as I'd hoped unfortunately.
Hopefully they will also make me a battery compartment, and some shelf/brackets to mount the electronics inside the tank.

So decided to sort out the rear bins.

Rubbish weather for the second weekend,so no painting.
Started on the front mudguards added some rivet /bolt details that doesn't come with the kit.
I will fill the button screws.
Not strictly correct but good enough for what I need.
Trying the loctite 638 for the ribs see how it works out.

Did you make the front fender ribs or were they supplied with the kit?

If 638 does not work then try 480.
638 is very fickle when it comes to the gap being filled and will not cure with any exposure to air. 480 is more forgiving.

Hi All,

Change of plan today.
Watch all the panther builds, and very impressed with the progress.
I've dry built the turret as a few members mentioned they had issues with fitting.
On mine the 2 curves on the base are to tight stopping the side panels pulling in tight all the way along.
And on the mantelet fitment it appears to be slightly offset on the right is this correct?

While the grinder was out thought try the cut marks for the steel plates.
Not sure it's quite correct.
