You're progress is looking great. I have just received my first Armortek kit after years of saving since the Elefant was announced. I will be watching this thread with great enthusiasm.

Thank you guys for your likes and replies. Trevor, the Elephant kit although heavy... is an easy build. On the Forum you will find a whole parade of many fine Elefants builds with loads of information. I have dry fitted the upper hull, just needs showing the file....
Take as long as you like with upgrades or build out of the box, either way a kit to enjoy and be proud of.
The Panther is more or less complete Jae-seung....lying in wait behind the dinning room table for the unwary. I have shown the Panther to many friends, the look on their faces when they realise the sheer size...and then I fire the gun
The Women's cycle race passed by in a flash....hardly had time to catch my breath....resisted the temptation to take photo's, at my age it looks odd Mick

I am very excited to get started. Still doing research and planning my construction steps, Reading so much in the forums and getting brain fog
Considering converting it back to a Ferdinand, If not then dreading the Zimmerit. To be honest I am so excited to have finally been able to realize this dream, I am still kind of in a state of disbelief that its sitting here covering my work bench.
All of the builds so far are magnificent and I am learning a lot.

Good morning everyone, another hot day forecast, I am advised to stay indoors....Progressing with the build, I am pleasantly satisfied with the amount of available space within the hull. I recall the game I had squeezing the batteries/motion etc, inside my Comet, the Elefant looks to be a doddle.
Coming to the end of the 'track' assembly, much cleaner links and only two piercings.....
Looking forward now to the gubbins that bring these wonderful models to life. On the home front, although not so active, I do read and follow the various Forum builds, Some very fine and experienced modellers out there, a pleasure to follow.....Mick

Just to say.....always read, look carefully at, the instructions/diagrams in the booklet. I actually assembled fourteen of the same track types before realising there are two types....and that is not an age thing, should have known better.....Mick

Good morning everyone, just a few photographs to show my progress. Spent this morning making up the tool/towrope brackets, a real test from my failing eyes and rickety fingers...
Super hot Monday and Tuesday....the plan is to open all doors and windows early, about six o'clock. Aerate the whole bungalow. About nine o'clock close up, draw and close all curtains....and laze around in my Jim jams, Portable air con on standby, lots of Vimto, a favourite drink of mine...as a child my dad would take me along to the local Station Street Working Mens Club, (of which he was a member) deposit me in the back yard...and buy me a small bottle of 'Vimto'. Days of my life....Mick

Good afternoon guys, just a quick question, reference the 'front applique' CRO602 plate. I have attached the plate to CRO102. There are twelve cone head bolts located in and securing the two plates CRO602/CRO102 together.
I am using cone head bolts CRO643 to hold these plates together. This bolt length when inserted, will only take half an M6 nut, inside the hull. Maybe a couple of threads on the M6... is this how it should be, or..........Mick

Hiya Mick - we had that to. Used some glue to hold the nut on.

Good afternoon Nikolas and thank you for your reply. I had assumed this was to be the answer, so I made sure to tighten the cone bolts with my trusty ring spanner. I guess twelve bolts ain't going to come loose. Thank you....Mick

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, a question regarding the 'recoil' system. I have searched the Forum and Knowledge Base for an answer. I have completed the Bench Setup prior to fitting the motors and smoke unit in the Elefant.
All went well up to the point where I tested the recoil motor.....once the on/off switch is activated 'on' the power module which is connected to the recoil motor through the limit switches....the motor, runs continuously.
Is this recoil motor dependent on the limit switches being switched off, once the recoil system is fitted ?....Mick

Yes, the recoil system relies on the interaction of two microswitches.

When all installed, one is held closed by the recoil servo, and the other by the sliding arm on the bracket.

It can be tricky to get to work reliably and it's a bit like juggling scissors when it's whizzing round and not stopping correctly, so mind your fingers!
