Decided to attempt doing a simple representation of the rear Notek light. Some details like for example the four clips have been omitted but the user can choose to add them using a metal strip. The size of the unit including the face of the Notek light is 30mm long, 16mm wide and 10mm deep. I am not sure that this is a correct size for 1/6th scale as I could not find any info on the internet.
There is a choice of two faces. The functional face can be used if a light source is provided but the user has to provide his own coloured lenses. The non functional face can be used if no light source is going to be used. In this case the cutouts can be hand painted accordingly.
The flap is non functional. It will not swing up or down. The user will choose in which position to bond it to the face.

Hello Vince,
Your Notek Light printed really nice. See below. All are printed at 0.05mm layer height. Tomorrow I will try another print at smaller layer height setting, perhaps 0.035mm. Also will remove the parts from sprue and put them together. I think I have a small lamp that may work in these. The resin looks a little washed out - perhaps some paint or primer would show the detail better.

Overall very nice and easy to print. I would suggest a couple minor tweaks to model - if you want to make them:
1) Notek Logo a little taller height
2) The rim around the base of top cover a little bigger. It printed ok, but is quite fragile.

As a side note, here is a way to make casting numbers for models. The small text below is 2.2mm, 0.5mm thick and the base is 0.5mm thick. The large text is 3mm height, 0.63mm thick. These can be printed and then bonded directly to model and the edges filled in with epoxy or milliput.



Thank you for sharing the Notek CAD models. They are really nice addition to Armortek models.

Regarding the Notek emblem, it's no problem to make it taller (thicker) but I think it will look too big. Actually I am surprised that you managed to get that result. That emblem is 0.1mm tall. I think the problem with 3D printing that part is that the details are too fine for a 3D printer which makes it look fuzzy.

Hi Vince,
Here are some pix of the .050 layer height version fitted together. Looks really nice in my opinion. Little bit of filing needed to fit the top cover but not bad. The base rim of the top cover is a little rippled but will work fine.











I printed the same models again at 0.035mm layer height. The detail is just a little bit better, including the logo. The logo could still be a little higher to come through paint.

Looks nice. Holding it between your fingers gave me a true idea of it's size.
I can easily make the emblem taller and send it over. How much taller do you want it?

Hi Vince,
I think another 0.1mm on the round ring. Perhaps another 0.1 above that on the text "Notek". You can always sand something down if its too pronounced. Hard to go other way tho.
