Now that the Quad is finished I can get on with the KT, nothing to exciting at the present, acid etch everything and setting up the suspension to 30 deg.

More progress with the KT and it's getting more interesting now. We now have a rolling chassis which is getting a bit heavy to flip over but it's more convenient to work on those weld seams on the horizontal.

I am trying to keep everything as neat and tidy as possible ready for the weathering process which may change all that.

I have had to replace around 20% of the collars and the split pins, if the split pins are left to long they catch on everything and will eventually break off.

The Milliput weld seam from the inside giving some structural integrity, with a good key/bond this will stay in place for ever.

It feels like we should have all the welds and joints perfectly straight and regular but in reality they were "as rough as guts" I like to think mine are somewhere in between

She does have a base coat of red oxide but i like to build using the grey as it really shows any problem areas

That's a piece of heat shrink in the slot to protect the lens while spraying primer.

I have manufactured a rear convoy light, the LED is not quite in the right place so I will need to reposition, the resistor makes life a little more difficult. The first light slot on the left has had a blue paint filter added and so tones the bright led down to a more acceptable level, just need to add it to the remaining three.

The resistor doesn't need to be next to the LED - mount it at the other end of the cable if it makes things easier.

You are quite right Adrian but like a dick I bought a pack of ten already fitted with the resistor and all nicely heat shrinked :? I thought it would save a little job, regards Phil.

Installed the battery/module chassis plate and fitted the motors, all ready now for the sparky bits, then it's first test trial of the chassis and running gear, can't for see any problems, regards Phil.
