Now that the Quad is finished I can get on with the KT, nothing to exciting at the present, acid etch everything and setting up the suspension to 30 deg.

It's quite nice to get my teeth into some armour once again. How often do you get to see the thickness of the Armortek glacis plate!
I may put the 16/1 motors gearboxes in this one.
She has some nice Gucci additions here and there, it's a shame to have to paint the brass.

More progress with the KT and it's getting more interesting now. We now have a rolling chassis which is getting a bit heavy to flip over but it's more convenient to work on those weld seams on the horizontal.

the tracks have a nice patina, just right for a late war survivor, welds seams everywhere!
I am trying to keep everything as neat and tidy as possible ready for the weathering process which may change all that.
I have had to replace around 20% of the collars and the split pins, if the split pins are left to long they catch on everything and will eventually break off.
The weathering undercoats start early on in the build.
The Milliput weld seam from the inside giving some structural integrity, with a good key/bond this will stay in place for ever.
It feels like we should have all the welds and joints perfectly straight and regular but in reality they were "as rough as guts" I like to think mine are somewhere in between

I have replaced the filament bulb with an LED, less heat.
Always seems a shame to paint the brass work.
That's a piece of heat shrink in the slot to protect the lens while spraying primer.
I have manufactured a rear convoy light, the LED is not quite in the right place so I will need to reposition, the resistor makes life a little more difficult. The first light slot on the left has had a blue paint filter added and so tones the bright led down to a more acceptable level, just need to add it to the remaining three.

You are quite right Adrian but like a dick I bought a pack of ten already fitted with the resistor and all nicely heat shrinked I thought it would save a little job, regards Phil.

Installed the battery/module chassis plate and fitted the motors, all ready now for the sparky bits, then it's first test trial of the chassis and running gear, can't for see any problems, regards Phil.
