Same hear, i don't have a Tiger I but the sound is interesting...
The Tiger I sounds smoother but to be sure it should be recorded with the same equipment in te same conditions...
Still sound is better than nothing at all.
Your idea of shifting gears is marvelous. That nobody thought of that before

That's one of the hardest problems to overcome - I can't see the Tank Museum putting the Tiger through its paces just so someone can record the noises it makes.
Which means that Thomas, or anyone else for that matter, would need to record it during public performances, which then leads to problems with noise pollution from crowds, other vehicles etc. Let alone being able to get the correct mix of start-up, shutdown and running sounds needed to program the sound card.
What we really need is someone in the hobby with the ear of the management at Bovington ...

I have an idea...
Its not going to be the Tiger sound but the sound of a King Tiger.
The restoration in Full Switzerland, they are looking for funds and if someone can spare a 5000chf (3300€, 2850£) he'll be invited after each important step in the restoration and when its complete he can make a trip within the KT...
I wished that by some miracle i had so much to spare or even more who knows what would be possible...

That's easy Sven, sell your KT kit
For £3K I'd want a share in their KT, not just a ride
Nice to know another one will be up and running though
