Hi Dale.
How have you made the "surplus" on the fenders?
Have you added something (what?) or have you punched the brass?

Pierluigi . The raised part on the outer edge is made from half round brass bar.. I cut this to size pre soldered it then clamped it into the right spot then sweated it on with my small blow torch , I then cleaned it up with sand paper . to get that nice clean look I wipe around the edge with car filler with my finger to blend it in . Dale,
I like the fenders they are looking the biz now. Your in iminent danger of finishing this project.
I like the sign also but Cairns is spelt wrong. Either that or your going to need a lot of jerry cans to reach Caen!!
Are you going to put the strips of metl on the bottom of the hull sides to which the track guards were bolted. I've started to make these but I'm in two minds about fiting them. I guess not all Sherman had them weldedon but the Brit Fireflys seemed to have them fitted.

Allan Cairns is now fixed.. The side fender rails are a tricky one . I'm going to have a go at them tonight . They are a big feature of a Shermans proflie . I going to pre drill brass bar and try and drill and tape some fixing holes in the side plates and use countersunk crews and fill the holes after .. Dale
