Mick, a simple servo with a micro switch attached to it will give you radio switching using maybe the gear channel on your Spektrum TX, it's the easiest and most convenient way to switch something with little current, so no relay to worry about.......Phil.

Mick, an alternative to Phil's physical switch, which might be simpler, is a receiver controlled switch. They're quite cheap and more or less plug and play.

Question time chaps. I have resolved my turret turn problem......purchased a new Viper from Mtroniks. Connected to bench assembly setup.....rudder on left hand stick as previous set up..... all working okay. I did think it may have been a faulty Viper.
Now for the sound card problem. I have purchased a 'dongle' from Benedini and tried to download the setup programme to change the two sounds which are not set correctly. If you all recall, the recoil activates on the MG, it should react on the Main Gun or Canon. The Benedini programme is loaded and unzipped however, my computer is asking for a .tbs. file.....to run 'setup'. Any answers most gratefully received.....Mick

I'll leave this to the real gurus to advise but I can offer a couple of observations.

The .tbs file is the collection of sounds for your model, if you like, it's the CD you put in your player. The only people who have it are Armortek and Thomas B. I don't think you need it.

It sounds as though your problem stems from an error in the process of "teaching" the sounds during the setup process. I suspect one position (or click of your toggle switch) didn't register and the special sounds are now out of sequence. I'd suggest you go back and re-read the setup process in the Knowledge Base, noting what it says about needing to repeat the process if you don't get the result you need. The special sounds have to be programmed or taught in sequence and if you miss one position, all the remaining sounds will be out by one position. Hence you'll get the MG input operating the MA sounds.

You would only need the .tbs file and the dongle if, like me, you're daft enough to want to replace the stock sounds with custom sounds, as I've done on the Centurion.

Following up your light issue, I've now installed the receiver controlled switch and it was both simple and very effective. The only wrinkle is that you absolutely must provide a common ground if you use a separate battery for the light. I did and the solution was very easy. I simply ran a lead from the negative of the lamp battery to a spare terminal on the receiver. If you don't have a spare, you can always use a Y lead.

Hello Stephen and thank you for your advice, I have just tried resetting the card as you say...no joy, I still have the Canon on number 3 and MG on number 4, which activates the recoil servo. I have read the Benedini notes and it appears you can swop these around. I will keep trying.....thanks again, Mick

You shouldn't need the .TBS file as it sounds like you have all the sounds in place, just not operating the correct outputs.

Which version of the software do you have, as the latest is quite different in look and feel from the previous version ?

Hello Adrian, about a week ago, having ordered the 'dongle' from Benedini, I downloaded the setup programme from his website. Mr Benedini had already emailed the access password. The 'soundfile' opened and I looked at the contents and the changes that can be made to the sound card.
Two or three days later my old computer crashed, bigtime. Over the weekend I treated myself to a new one, a 'Dell Inspiron', with lights and bells, running Windows 10 Home. It's this computer that I reloaded with the Benedini programme however, I can't open the 'soundfile'. The file or programme looks like it is built to run on the earlier Windows, XP, 7 or 8 versions, is this the problem ?
I know how busy Armortek are at the moment, so I am trying to solve this sound card issue myself, that and just for the hell of it. Mick

Hello everyone, finally moved back into the tank workshop after a spell 'on the brushes'. Finished decorating the living room, bedroom and hall. Back in my wife's good books, so all is well.....Mick

Morning everyone, making progress or be it slow progress....the next two weeks are crowded with appointments, from flu jabs to hospital/doctors appointments and scans. Completely scuppered our plans to attend the 'open day'.....maybe next year. I am anticipating many photographs being taken at the event...identifying the Forum members will be interesting.
Painting the Panther tool sets and adding welds to the cupola, not my favourite side of the hobby....not yet decided on an air brush. The garage is cold....a few blankets needed on the old girl unless there is a change in the weather.
Gave up on the Audio Module, never able to open the Benedini 'soundfile' and swop the MG/Main Gun sounds around. Never mind the good souls at Armortek will sort the problem......oh and it's raining.....Mick

It's raining here too , I ought to finish building that ARK of mine, I think our God is about to drown us all for our sins When I select the 2 of every kind of animal (for the ARK) how will I get on with the neutral gender sorts? Good afternoon everyone, thank you for you comments Phil...as I was born in the 1930s you will know my opinions on that subject.
Now, a big thank you to Armortek.....my Audio Unit arrived back home this morning. Clearly, someone at the emporium has worked their magic. I have all systems go Lights, bells, the whole shebang....main gun goes boom, recoil and LEDs flash, easy. Thanks again Kian, my heart is still.

Hello Dennis, I guess you enjoyed your holiday, I missed your guidance and advice.
Now, I know most members will fully understand the electronic side of our hobby, what goes where etc,. However, I have now had the good fortune to have built five Armortek kits over as many years, and without doubt most of my problems are centred around the bench assembly and Rx Tx wiring, set up .
Surely the knowledge and experience is there within the Armortek community to produce an idiots guide to 'setup'. Do not point me towards the knowledge base, some good, some bad. We have guys like Adrian, Stephen and Dennis who can talk you through the procedure, so why can we not have a half decent written 'how to guide', to setup.....
All written with a smile and a genuine request for help. Oh, and I know I am not alone in this.
After all, the forum has been revamped......Mick
