The 251 is in for a good going over and service. The left hand idler had somehow rotated itself during the test run however, that's what testing is for.....to iron out these little probs.
Hoping to see the Flying Scotsman this afternoon....through the Cambrian Mountains.
Gorgeous weather, my washing is on the line and drying in the gentle breeze.....Mick

All quiet on the 251 front these days.... Added a few more details, the decals are made up by Pyramid Models, vinyl stick on. Looking to give my 251 a run....if only it would stop raining. Although the football has taken over for the time being....My track seems slack.....that's not rhyming slang.....Mick

Hello Michael
A really nice work from you. I think often at your Comet. It was the same good build.
Kind regards
Frank

Hello Frank, thank you for you comments. I have followed your build, very impressive. Most of my enjoyment is in the building of these superb models....I guess that's why I have over many years sold my models on....and then have regrets.....best wishes, Mick

Hello everyone, I am enjoying the latest posts, excellent work lads. I have posted these SdKfz 251 final build photo's, one or two small details for the eagle eyed. The centre section is bolted down however, it lifts out to give access to the control 'modules'.
For anyone interested in 'dipping their toe' into this fascinating Armortek hobby, this particular model is a great starting point. A very easy satisfying build.....now if only the weather would play ball.....Mick

The 251 is in workshops for a refit....just an excuse to play with her. While I am tinkering there are one or two improvements to make. To allow more space/movement for the smoker/switch etc, I would like to extend the wiring between the new Motion Control Module and the Smoke Unit.
Question, what gauge wire is used between these Units?. I will probably source this from the local motor accessories shop.....
I will also use small nuts/bolts to hold the wire to battery connections.....pulled apart again....ham fisted....spotted this method in an earlier post.... Mick

I had intended to fit the 'smoker' during the Autumn however, with the changeable weather I started last week. This smoker certainly is the 'bees knees', very impressive. I added a 90 degree copper bend to obtain more space. There is a surprising amount of room in the engine compartment....the batteries are located on the two white felt pads, the speaker is in the rear compartment...... Mick

Hi Michael,
I've been following your build on Sdkfz 251.
Like the big search light!…could take longer lasting Duracell batteries!
Cheers

Now....regardless of the 'advice' never to run your precious Armortek models on stoney ground....in a moment of age related madness....
