Good evening all(it's good, half term is over, here anyway).
Haven't done much this week, moved tanks around so that I can work on Chieftain's turret & Bailey Bridge. So here is today's work, eBay (other outlets available) leather, loaders hatch internal detail.
Right, here's a question, when a Chieftains barrel is fully elevated, does the counter weight foul the batteries?
Batteries x2 placed on a support directly under the centre point of the turret, convenient. However do the electronics provide a cut out at the end of the elevation /depression movement?
While I have the turret on the bench I have the barrel totally depressed (no John It is still a very happy barrel, just chillin')
I have some lead which I might use, again open to suggestions.
Keep safe, take care.
Charles

Most annoyingly your doing a wonderful job Charles. I can only dream of having the turret on the bench. I'm still mixing house duties with garden duties and work duties. I do like the detail here, paying lip service to the edges of the hatch and turret.
The leather work is very nice too, having a eye on a old pair of the wife's gloves in the future.
While the barrels down did you get one of those very nice inserts from Phil. I was rifling around the other day in the parts box and came across it, and started day dreaming of the day when I could fit it.

Good morning.
No I don't have an insert for the barrel, I email Adrian about one some time ago, no rush.
I must be the only one working from top down, that is me

.
Thinking of add ON's, is there anyone with a spare set on the stowage bin hasps they would like to sell?

Hi Charles
I'll have a few of the originals from Armortek you can have if that's what you mean. I'll need a few myself for the UC.

Thanks for the offer John, I should have said padlock hasps, as sold by Steve Winstone, I missed out by not being quick enough. I did manage to acquire a couple of reflectors though, very nice.
Cheers Charles

No, Charles my mistake, I should have thought latches.
A man of your caliber could make them, no problem, ok ok, the slots might be a problem
There's not a lot to them, just eleven to make

, it'd be just the time, certainly keep you off the streets for a while.
This is not a "rub it in" picture by the way, just a close up of the hasps from Steve. I could do measurements, Just in case you want to have a go at them.
He might still have some, have you asked?

Plan A is pretty good idea and makes sense. I hope Steve helps you guys out, he seems to come though in an hour of need with his wonderful stuff. I'm sure he'll always find a market for the working hasps. If not for the Chieftain, I'm sure there are other vehicles waiting in the aisle for this sort of detail.
But if not.
