last of the brackets for the rear of the shield made and fitted, fuse indicator represented by a piece of brass strip, and housed in its canvas case, still have lots of leather straps to make, then on to the front of the shield

finished detailing rear of the shield, and made a start on the front, the aiming poles and brackets took a bit of head scratching, to get them to be functional, just the white numbers and banding to do, also made some of the tools, and remade the brackets for the pickaxe head

Thanks Stephen, not many updates to come, all the main elements completed, just straps and a couple of tie downs to do, finished the aiming poles, these have steel shafts and arms, used the kit shovel head but with a wooden handle, and fitted one of Dave's drag ropes

The 25 pounder is now finished, although there might be an update if an ongoing project comes to fruition, its has been a very enjoyable build, light and easy to work on, and plenty of scope for detailing, plus plenty of help and encouragement from the forum.

Jeff, this is one of those threads that really has been worth following. I've not only enjoyed watching an outstanding model being built but have picked up some new techniques along the way. I've already invested in an engraving machine, inspired by your examples of what can be achieved. Thanks for all your posts.

I suppose the obvious answer to your question is the limber but is that too easy? A Pheasant? Whatever, it'll be worth following.

in my last post I mentioned there might be an update, during the build of the ranging apparatus I asked if anyone knew how to add the ranging scale to the cone, well one of our furum members from the other side of the world, Liam Mahoney took up the challange, and today I received the first sample, and it is fantastic, it will be laser engraved on steel shim, and will need to be trimmed to size and fixed, I am very pleased with mine, if anyone is interested in one let me know, cost will be approx £16 plus postage

Thanks Vince but Liam takes the credit, I thought I would add some more detail for whats on offer, the range scale will be produced by laser onto steel shim, this will need to be trimmed to size and rolled around the plain alloy cone on the Armortek part EJ0263 and fixed in place, the sample that I tested had a spelling mistake, ( no E in range) this will be corrected and slightly thinner shim used to make it easier to roll

Hi Marcus, will let you know when they are in, if Liam can produce this level of detail on the range scale then who knows what is possible, it would be great to have raised wording on the Id plaques, I will ask the question, if achievable in 1/6th that opens up a new level in super detailed parts

That ranging scale has been at the top of my list... and I have been trying to figure out how to do one with my simple 'trophy engraving' machine... but the setups were just too daunting.

I want one of those for sure!!!!

Do they also get used on the 17 pounder? Somehow I don't think so. But if they do... I think I need two!

Fantastic 25pdr. Hard to tell is not the real thing. I hope your next project is another military piece or vehicle. I love following your progress. Looks like the engine in background could use a little attention. Hope your next is another Armortek!

Hi Michael, thanks for the information, I had missed making the sight clinometer pouch, do you have a picture of the pouch or container for the fuse indicators, that was stored on the top right rear of the shield, above the dial sight.
a bit more completed, made the Apparatus, Illuminating, sights No5, that bolts to the slotted bracket on the bottom left rear of shield, made from steel with brass hinges, also made the two canvas bags that hold the barrel pull through' s

Hey Jeff.... what is 'in' this box? Looks like a wiring harness of some kind? Something to do with trailering? Hydraulic lines for recharging the cylinders? Communications equipment?

Going to make up the box on my Thursday 'day off.'

Also, what does the plaque above it say?
