Re: Charging Leads
It just depends of you're going to use two 12V chargers or one 24V charger.
Armortek usually provide a single charging lead, for use with a 24V charger.
Personally, I use two leads, one on each battery. This has worked perfectly with pairs of either CTEK MXS5 or NOCO Genius chargers, and ensures each battery gets the charge voltage and current it requires.

Adrian,
Thank you for your response. Two $9.00 Optimate fused leads are much less expensive the buying a new 24v charger!

Which charger do you find the most suitable, the CTEK MXS5 or NOCO Genius?

Re: Charging Leads
I've used the CTEKs for 10 years now and they've been bulletproof.
I've installed NOCO chargers in the van as they can do AGM or LiFePO4 batteries, so can handle any tanks I have on board, plus they do x2 and x4 chargers, which lessens the amount of space and mains wiring needed.

If you use two 12v chargers and two leads does that mean you have installed two charging points to your tanks and do you disconnect the lead joining the two batteries together prior to charging?

Re: Charging Leads
Yes.
All of my batteries have standard connectors attached, so they are interchangeable. There are XT150 connectors for the tank and XT30 connectors for the chargers. I then run another XT30 to XT30 lead for each battery to somewhere accessible on the model, so I can attached the chargers.

Both types of chargers have "floating" outputs, they don't care if the positive of one is connected to the negative of the other. I tested them with fused leads before going ahead, just in case it would be a problem. Other chargers may not be so accommodating.
