That is not a connector, that is a MOSFET, please do not connect this to anything.

Hmm, you have to connect it, else it's useless
The Mosfet is used to control the fan-speed of the smoke unit.
I know the cable is pretty long, so I rewired mine and mounted it on the plastic stand which hold the fan in place.

Hi Ed,
What you show in the photo is the MOSFET which has 3 wires coming from it, the metal protruding from the heat shrink is the heat sink for the MOSFET to prevent it from overheating. This does not require fitting to anything but should be in a position so that it can shed heat.
