Folks am I missing a piece for the hitch on the Limber ?
Seems to me there must be there some part to hold the gun carriage hitch that I don't have and is not listed in the manual

The kit part is simplified. See Dave's build thread to see how he improved it for his update set:

Dave sells the tow hitch as a separate item if you wanted to upgrade yours:
