Sherman Nearing Completion

Post by Allan Richards »

Just thought I'd post some photos of the nearly complete Sherman Firefly. I am thinking of addint the track guard mounting strips to the sides of the hull and a tool box to the rear hull plate.

Allan,
Smashing looking firefly. Very well done. Looks like a Tiger tamer for sure. Fantastic added details on the hull, tools, and hatches especially.

I like the desert rats emblem -nice final touch.

Excellent Allan.

I was in need of a Firefly fix! Paint, markings and weathering look super! Really great job. I like that DML British tank commander figure. He's perfect for your Sherman!

I look forward to your next project.

Allan - your Firefly looks stunning, a real triumph. But please, please sort out the drivers beret - it looks like HMS Ark Royal!

(He's probably a new recruit, who hasn't been instructed on the ancient art of beret shrinking).

Regards

Stephen

Thanks for the kind words, I will sort out the drivers berret, the body is from Dave at Armorpax and the head and berret from Lee, but I need to fix how it lays on his head, it looks like he's got an Afro under it!!.

Next job is a small toolbox for the rear hull plate then I am going to fit the track guard retaining strips to the side of the hull. Finally there is some small details of painting, then that is it. I don't think I am going to build another Armortek model for the time being but I might be pursuaded to sell the Tiger for a PIII or Stug III in the future.
