Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
A PakWagen 251 would be cool...I'm no expert but between the 251 and Pak Armortek have already released, maybe they could be combined with appropriate new parts?
Cheers,
Alex

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
I very much enjoyed the old way of introducing a new model, with the 3d blanket over what the new release was this created a lot of debate and excitement people would sit and wait for the unveiling in anticipation.

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
This is a 251/d. the old one was a 251/c. The 251/d would be verry nice as a Carrier, so everyone can make his own version.Alex Easten wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 2:41 pmA PakWagen 251 would be cool...I'm no expert but between the 251 and Pak Armortek have already released, maybe they could be combined with appropriate new parts?

BUT hopefully with two engines, like the Sdkfz7, and stronger tracklinks.

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
Ahhh But
Given we have just had modern armour with the Leopard - Looks fantastic.... Well impressed.
AND, just had German with Tiger 1 - Bought one .....
That's 2 German vehicles. So my bet ( I'm not putting any money on it though ) is ...... Not German this time.
The Armortek crew have given the 'dead giveaway' clue. Tracks and a Gun..... That narrows the field...... Errrr .... not much.
So what could we expect.
Well..
Matilda 2 - A definite potential to face the Tiger 1 in the desert.
Swedish S Tank - Really different....
Renault FT - Small and cute
Italian M13/40 - Have AT ever done anything Italian ?
So many possibilities
But I can say with certainty that....
It's not going to be a Valentine - That would have been announced today.
And I really hope it's not Challenger 2. I REALLY REALLY want one of these, but won't be in a position to afford if for a couple of years.
But speaking seriously, given the time and effort that has gone into the Leopard. My real guess is that it will be a new version / variant of an existing model.
The fun of speculation.....
All the best.
Chris.

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
I believe Armortek had already posted that it will not be a half-track.
Valentine ruled out, that would have been posted today.
I also rule out CVR(T) as Armortek have stated it would have a gun. The variant Stephen White would want had a drain-pipe instead
Considering that the last models have been on the large size, I think something smaller with a lot of potential is likely, maybe an M113 or Bradley IFV ?

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
Well, that narrows it down!
Though, I do like the logic from Chris of "given the time and effort that has gone into the Leopard. My real guess is that it will be a new version / variant of an existing model".
Hmmmmm..... a Sherman maybe?
Also, this has tracks and a gun.....and isn't a half track.....

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
So hear me out. The next model would roughly be June release, June would be the 80th anniversary of D-Day, it seems likely that the model might be a re-run. We know a half track won't appear for a little while.
The previous survey had these models (The Tiger 1 and Leopard 2 have been removed for obvious reasons, the Sdkfz 250 and M3 have also been removed due to their half trackness, the FLAK 36 and 222 removed due to their lack of tracks and the M IV removed due to it's WW1-ness)
DE - JagdPanther - (£4300)
UK - Challenger 2 - (£4600)
UK - Cromwell - (£4300)
UK - Matilda II - (£4300)
US - M1A1 Abrams - (£4600)
DE - Panzer 2 Luchs - (£3500)
DE - Panzer IV - (£4000)
UK - Centurion - (£4300)
UK - CVRT (specify the variant below) - (£3500)
US - M24 Chaffee - (£3500)[/i]
The email that we got in 2022 re surveys said this:
Unlike in previous surveys where there was a clear winner, or at least a top two, this year there are 6 models that are all within a whisker of each other.
The top 6 are:
- 88 flak 36 with bogies
- Tiger 1 (early variant)
- Panzer IV
- Leopard 2 (most requested variant the 2a7)
- Challenger 2
- M1A1 Abrams
I also feel like the next release will be a previously kitted subject sooo......
Panzer IV anyone? It's about time the old girl was finally brought up to current Armortek standards!

Re: Next Armortek model to be announced
Based on what I'm reading, hints provided by Armortek and most popular 'wants' overall I want to believe it
has to be one of these -
> Matilda II
> Some variant of a Pz III or IV
> An Italian M13/40 -------------- would be a stretch however very welcome
> Crusader
> Valentine
> M3 Stuart
I'd go for any of these...
