Hi happy new year to you all, a few years ago I modelled a Leopard 1a4, so when Armortek showed a track link I was sure it was from a Leopard, only to discover that I had put all the pads upside down on the track links, so with out this topic I would have been blissful about my mistake

Lord, give me strength to change the things I am able to change.... and patience to endure the things I can not change :-) A bunch of Tiger and Panther variants, Leo II, Famo, 222s, a few 88`s and smaler ones like Hetzer, Stug III, 251, etc.

If Armortek release another CG drawing , show the other side of this link. It'll be easier to say whether it's for Challenger 2 or Leopard 2.

The Challenger 2 central guided teeth are narrower.

Happy New Year to everyone and hope you have a great year ahead.

We have started back at work today and will work our way through emails over the net couple of days - so please bear with us.

In the meantime, here is a little teaser of what is to come this year .....

That teaser looks like a 570 track from Diehl in Germany. The Abraham tank in the U.S. uses the T-158 series and the K2 Black Panther in Korea also uses the T-158 derivative orbit.
So I guess the upcoming tank is Leopard 2 in Germany.

Just in case some might want to super dooper detailing on the up and coming teaser model, good luck
Here's a couple of pictures of my pair of 1:1scale Leo 2 track pads, showing the side and back side of the knock on and knock off pads.
Notice the indent on the locking wedge. I believe it allows a bar to be inserted to bend the wedge to allow easy, if not long winded removal (if all) of the pads when rubber has worn down enough.
I just use this pair as wedges on the tracks during model transport.

If Armortek are going to offer a Challenger 2 or 3, I for one would be very interested indeed!

Just a couple of points though, the track components would need to be of a ferrous material and of very good quality, this would be a heavy bugger putting immense stress on the chains, shame to sink the ship for a half penny of tar.

The sounds........Challenger when running gives you goose bumps when you are close to the vehicle like no other could, this model would become a " flag ship" for Armortek and with the impending possibility of the weapon system being used in anger very soon against the Russians what a marketing opportunity, so the sound quality is paramount and no doubt Armortek will get that turbo note just so. With the new Armortek smoker linked to the "smoke on function" that is the tanks party piece, she sure would look great creating that smoke screen but please be aware the exhaust note signature changes considerably when the diesel is injected to create the clouds of white smoke, so when the sounds recording day comes around ask the guys to hit the "smoke on" switch!

The cameraman is to far away to hear the exhaust note change in this video but believe me it does, also note the track "clatter" again very important that!

If your not going to offer the Challenger then please disregard this post.....Phil.
