TANKFEST 2023 - 23rd/24th/25th June
Tankfest at the tank museum in Bovington is on this year from the 23rd June through to the 25th June.
The tank museum have offered us a 15m x 15m pitch by the main admissions area to the event.
Our plan at the moment is to set up on Thursday the 22nd in the afternoon and break down on Sunday 25th evening.
If you would like to attend for one or more days then let us know in the comments below. We would, as always, appreciate help in getting set up on the Thursday and breaking down on the Friday.
Spaces will be limited and will be on a first come basis. Our request is that you are willing to put on a good show for the public with your models.

I've been wanting to pop on over for years. I'm hoping this will be the year. I haven't a clue as to my way around either... The only time
I've set foot in the UK, sort of was a stop over at Heathrow...

Re: TANKFEST 2023 - 23rd/24th/25th June
Hi Kian,
As discussed and if possible I would like to attend with you. Happy to help on the Thursday with the setup and have accommodation for the whole event. I will not be having a separate stand this year as I have been booted out of the museum. Without a complete rethink I am not geared up for a hard standing pitch and the costs of hiring the offered marquee along with higher pitch costs have made this unviable for the limited target audience, ie you lot
Best regards
Dave

Thanks to all who have responded so far.
We are still looking too thin on the ground for us to be able to make a good show of Tank Fest this year.
If you would like to attend and have not already been in touch then let us know as soon as possible.

Re: TANKFEST 2023 - 23rd/24th/25th June
We have a final call going out for Tankfest 2023- if you would like to attend please let us know asap.
We will need to make a call by the end of this week on whether we will have a running area at the event or not - at the moment we do not have the numbers to justify it.

Re: TANKFEST 2023 - 23rd/24th/25th June
After discussions this week, it's now possible that a solution could be found which would give us a running area of 35 x 15M which is about the same size as we used to enjoy ten years ago. It would be on grass, near the public entrance on the Lindsay Road side, ie the same side as the Tank Park. That is about as good as it's likely to get, given the competition for space.
If there isn't sufficient support for the event this year, it will be significantly more difficult to resurrect participation in future years as pressure grows on the Museum to give space to revenue earning participants. So it's use it or lose it.
TankFest has always been an event for the Armortek Community in Europe, together with Milltracks. After twenty or so years, it seems to me to be pity to let it lapse. The last few years have been increasingly difficult as our space has been reduced and we've had to put up with the car park but this year is different and perhaps it's time to inject some life into TankFest and make it a good outing for our hobby.
Chris, Kian will have a view but I think we'd need perhaps twelve to fifteen models.

We would like to have 15 models in the running area - otherwise the tumble weeds will start blowing through.Chris Hall wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 11:59 amHow many are we short ? And what’s the target attendance figure ?
Currently we are at around 11 on Friday and Sat and only 4 on Sunday.

Re: TANKFEST 2023 - 23rd/24th/25th June
A fair point, Kian - it’s always been about the quantity, as well as the range of different models on display. And the conversion potential is the icing on the cake.
The problem last year was the difficulty of getting offsite until the General Public had left - and they showed no desire to go . That’s even more of a problem on Sunday, when people need to get home for the start of the working week.
I still hope to be there this year, as usual !
