2003 Tiger 1 rebuild

Post by Jacob Stewart »

Hello all!

I'm new to the forum. Have been a fan of Armortek for many years but never thought I'd be able to own one until much further down the road in life. However, a few months ago I was very fortunate to pickup this 2003 Tiger 1 locally! Long story short, the seller said they got it from a friend, who themselves inherited it. My guess is it has been mothballed for at least a decade.

Whoever originally owned it appears to have been rather inventive, as they fitted a paintball gun into the turret. I already removed it, but I can say it was intriguing looking through the aging and stained owners manual, reading all the little side notes the builder scribbled as he built his way through. Who knows, maybe he was a forum member at some point, but I have no way of knowing.

Anyway, I'm hoping fellow owners on here might be able give me some advice on getting this machine running! I picked up a 24v battery and charger, but beyond that, I'm pretty much in the dark about the electronics, especially on a model this old. The original radio was included, though it has an old rechargeable battery in it with some corrosion. Might need to just invest in a new radio.

My plans are to first get the electronics running, then inspect the running gear before considering a new paint job. Anyone willing to provide some direction would be hugely appreciated!

Replace the battery in radio and check the fuses first! Connect the 24V battery (or two 12V) - Then try each function to see what works and doesn't. These look like original AT 1st Gen electronics. Overall its in pretty good shape.

Do you have the option pack manuals, as they will have circuit diagrams in of the various functions.
