Churchill No. 13

Post by Markus Beer »

Good evening dear Armortek community
I received my churchil no. 13 last week and I am delighted with the quality of the kit.
Of course I had to start assembling it immediately and have already painted the first parts with my desired colour (RAL 6031).
Best regards
Markus

Hi Markus.

Nice to see such prompt action, good luck with your endeavours. I did notice that you have the ramps ready to load Churchill: Good planning :-D

Cheers Charles

I have received number 9 in Australia and I am currently building the turret along with a rotary firer for the gun using blanks with a recoil generated by the shot, I am also going to improve the detail on my tank and will order so accessories from Armorpax, I changed the gun mount by machining .5mm of the inside of the mounting blocks and installing a spacer on each side so the pivot bolts for the gun elevation can be done up tight, the gun is now fiction free.

Birchwood Aluminium Black is a good base to start with. Get it from a local gunsmith / shop. This chemically blackens them. Then it's a bit of light detail spray here and there with rust effects. Don't go too heavy as you're building a newish in use version, not a sat in a museum and surface rusted for 70-years version.

Hello together
It goes on slowly but steadily.
The rollers are mounted on the carrier, now comes the mounting of the roller carriers to the hull.
Best regards

Hello together

I have progressed with the construction of the Churchill.
The drive motors run very well, the turret turning and the raising/lowering of the cannon also works.
Next week I will do the first test runs.

Best regards Markus

hello together

so, now my Churchill is almost finished on the jack. the test runs "jacked up" work very well, the chain noise is very metallic. Now only the test drive in the terrain is missing, then the "green monster" can be built ready.

best regards

Markus

hello thogether

today was the day: my "green monster" completed the first test drives in the open air. I am very happy with the performance but still need to change the settings on the controller. As a size comparison I have photographed the Churchill with my badger 1/7.

best regards
Markus
