New member panther g 1944

Hi All

This is my first 1/6 Armortek
I have ordered the latest panther g release and I'm looking into possibly doing a build log if anyone is interested?
To be honest I have been blown away and humbled by the standard of builds and workmanship on the forum.
I do have experience with rc tanks I have 12 fully upgraded tiagen Torro 1/16
However once I saw a 1/6 at the Armortek open day I just had to have one!!
Everyone there were very friendly and helpful, and a chap let me drive his jagdpanther couldn't believe it, drove very nicely I thought it would have been more difficult than the 1/16
The build looks very Daunting hopefully it will all work out well you're help and guidance.
I have a guy who paints all my tanks and he is thrilled to get to paint an Armortek.
I've bought a load of after market parts from Armorpax and Mark Lawson cannot recommend them highly enough.
On the look for some other bits hopefully forum will be able to help
Thankfully the wife is good with my projects, as it gives her peace and quiet
I've built a table on casters to make life easier to build and made a couple of fold out ramps

I am also newbie of this 1/6 scale tank but always wanted to have Armortek Panther when I first saw it few years ago from online and also waiting my kit to be shipped!

I looked up those books and they were over $100 a piece on Amazon. I found another one for $20 that I pre ordered it is coming out next month.

Hi Gary.

Another book which I found useful, to me at least, while working on my plastic Panther is "PANZER TRACTS No.5-3 Ausf G" (ISBN 0-9744862-7-2).

Unfortunately, "Out of Print" at Panzerworks. Maybe E-Bay perhaps.

BTW, great to have you on board. I have same model on way to, but not too sure when I will start my build. I, have only been involved for a couple of years and find the Forum a really great resource.

I received my kit, and started to go through the parts list..
Just a few bits
Had to stop proceedings as it's the misses 50th.
What cleaner/degreaser do you guy use prior to assembly?

Can’t wait to open my boxes today. I try to not get hung up in cleaning because it slows down construction and it’s going to get dirty again later anyway.

I’ll wipe down excesively greasy steel parts with a microfiber towel then run some sandpaper over it and if it is a larger part hit it with some primer.

I use Upol System 20 fast drying just before the primer goes on.

Nice to see your vehicle has arrived, happy building. Couldn't help but notice your Armopax jack and the aerial (I have just bought 3), they are good bits of kit. Did you, like me order extra road wheels?

I am going to ask you, as most will wish too, what's the blue box?
