Hi David,

E100, Löwe ('leichter Löwe' and 'schwerer Löwe', the model of my pic) and 'Maus' would be very big models in 1/6 scale and would be not easy to construct and build. All models may be seen today in 1/6 scale as scratch builds, the Maus even as a commercial built model. The interest in Germany is not very high I mean.

I see some folks are asking for a Maus or E100 in 1/6 scale.

I can't imagine how much more a challenge to move a 1/6 scale version of these would be.

I have a 1/10 scale Maus, about 93% complete and it weighs fully 60kg as it is. It's the only model of it's scale i need help moving and lives
on a wheeled dolly. I have just about everything I need to make an E100 in the same scale including chassis, wheels and tracks and just the parts
are heavy enough.

Yes, why not just build a 1/6 scale “Die Glocke”, as long as we’re now building all the Wunderklasse of weapons. I’m totally against the Maus….let’s stick with things that might really sell and make the next project one that is affordable, and practical to make, and own.

The only interesting thing about the Maus is how big it is and the fact they produced one in real life. A kubelwagen would make a more interesting model.

Of all the suggestions so far I would love the 88 the sd10 halftrack and the jagdpanther.

Thanks Gerhard- interesting model the e100. My intrest in this model started with playing word of tanks a game I've not played in a while now, but I eventually got one after lots of battles.

We can all dream....and it's fascinating to read some of the more esoteric suggestions. The reality though is that I suspect the choice boils down to whether the next model will sell, whether there is an accessible example to measure and can it be made economically. I guess also that Kian and Monique might consider some sort of national balance in the Armortek portfolio. Something used by the Panzerwaffe might be an easy win but other vehicles are available....

I wonder how we all choose where to spend our hard earned cash? There's the technical attraction of some kit - some like novelty (Hetzer?), some just pure innovative technical excellence (Panther, Comet, Centurion?). For some of us, nostalgia (Chieftain, CVR(T)?) Others just want to build and run an attractive model but I suspect most of us also have an interest in the operational history of a vehicle. That's certainly what attracts me to particular models because it prompts a lot of interesting historical research which adds a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction. So I'd be less interested in vehicles which were marginal and didn't have great records in service, or indeed any record at all (AMX13, E100, Maus).

In the end, any model is better than none. It's also interesting to look back on what models turned out to be winners and which bombed. Tiger always sells, despite the original not being all it was cracked up to be. Comet is widely regarded as one of the best runners. Nothwithstanding current events, who would have guessed that T-34 would not fly off the shelves? Panther is the good looker and eternally popular. Centurion turned out to be a winner, still going strong on the Forum. Some came and went - Pz IV. Pity really as some might argue it was the best (ie most useful) tank the German Army produced. And there remain some vehicles which have not yet caught the selectors' eyes but should have done if their operational record has any bearing - Cromwell, Pz IV, M-60, CVR(T), Renault FT17. But that's where we came in.....

Renault FT17 - small, with a wealth of history from 1918 to 1944.

JagdPanther - using many of the parts from the new Panther G, so should be straightforward to design.

WW1 Medium A Whippet - well, I had to !

Well, each of us may have another reasons to choose his favorite. My favorites are models (and manufacturers) that are different and are not seen at every tank meeting. Yes, 'me too' started with the Königstiger (Henschel turret) like many of us. The next was a Königstiger with Porsche turret, some more rare. Then came the Jagdtiger; at that time the only model in Germany (years before Armortek started building it). The next was an used, but uncompleted Armortek Jagdpanther; not very rare, but made by my next manufacturer. My latest model till now is the Pz IV. So today I have 5 Models made by 4 manufacturers, with strongly different kinds of engineering and materials from single fibre glass to steel / fibre glass to aluminium as the main building material. Unfortunately I don't have the space to host more models, but I have the chance to sell my oldest Königstiger (non Armortek; therefore no offer here). So a new model would be possible in near future.

I would be pleased by a M48 A2 which was my tank for 18 months and 2,500 kilometres in the german army; long, long ago. But such models are not at all easy to engineer.
