DMD unit

Post by Matthijs Dijkstra »

Hi guys,

Can somebody send me a drawing or a scheme how to convert a Tamiya DMD Unit to 12 Volt?

Thanks very much.

From what I understand the units work on 12v DC quite happily. The only mod I've seen is the use of cooling fans on the FET's when driving 600 motors!!!. This is what Armorpax did when the converted their 21st century Stuart's.

Before you go down this route I would contact Dave Dibbley at Armorpax just to be sure that is what he did. The DMD units are expensive things to blow up.

I personally errr'd on the side of caution and powered the DMD with a 7.2v race pack, it lasts forever and no fear of killing it
