Engine Grills on 2021 Tiger I

Post by Reinhard Ellinghaus »

Hello Everybody,

I am quite new to this type of big tank models, here my first question about a little assembly problem:
Is there Anybody having a suggestion how to bend the edges of the supplied engine grills in a exact manner.
Any hints for suitable tools for this task are greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Reinhard

These tools made for thin brass. AT brass is twice the thickness. Pretty hard to bend evenly. I will just leave them flat like AT.

A regular size bench vice, a steel ruler, and a small hammer will do the work.

Something like this should make it easy. Check the sizes first though.

Thanks Gentlemen,

pretty much infos! I will go for the steel ruler and a vice to do a first try. Allthough I love these types of nice tools as mentioned by Donald and Adrian. Will come back to the given references if I am not happy with the simple results.

Thank you, regards, Reinhard

Vince Cutajar had mentioned it in his thread :

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6937&start=480 , page 33.

A milling vice, some parallels, maybe with a hammer as well, were used. My way was basically following his.
