Problems with cannon elevation.
Problems with cannon elevation.
My elevation only go one way. If I put a servo on the receiver it goes both ways.
I have check all the cords against the wiring diagram, and also check the connections of the cords.
What is this for a nob in the pic I have marked?
Please help me, I dont know what to do next.

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
Hi
I believe the adjuster knob your pointing to is mid point adjustment for the electronize switcher. It should be set to somewhere around midway to suit your transmitter.
More likely your limit switches on the elevation upper and lower limits have a problem if the wiring is all ok from the switcher. The micro switches maybe jammed broken or one has disconnected. The micro switch lever arms could be bent and need resetting.
You'll have to disconnect the elevation drive motor to setup the upper and lower limit switch gear. It should also prove nothing is jammed.
I think the instructions should tell you how to set the limits up and test.

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
Thank for your help.
The switches are not broken, bend or jammed I tested them with my tester and send a tone true the switches when I did the test.
I did the test with them as seen in the picture.
But still I can only get the movement go one way.
I scratch my head.

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
If the limit switches are OK, it sounds like one of your relays is broken, or there is a break in the wiring somewhere.
When you move the stick up and down, with a fingertip on each relay case, can you feel them both operate ?
Adrian.

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
It might do. It's years since I worked with Electronize modules.
From memory, when the stick is in the centre, both both sides of the motor are linked to ground.
When you move the stick up, one relay activates and sends power to one side of the motor and it turns in one direction.
Back to the centre and the relay switches off so no power to the motor.
When you move the stick the other way, the other relay activates and sends power to the other side of the motor, so that it turns in the other direction.
The limit switches interrupt the power supply to the motor, so that once one has been activated, you have to move the stick in the other direction to get the motor to move.
To trouble shoot it, you will need to use a multi-meter to check each point in the diagram and make sure you have power and ground to all the relevant places when at rest, then repeat with the stick in each position and ensure the power follows the correct path to the motor. You should find the break that way. It might take more than one pair of hands

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
I forgot to say that that yellow control either sets the size of the dead band in the middle, so how far you have to move the stick away from the centre so that a relay operates, or the location of the central position of the stick, so that you can offset where the relays operate.
I don't have a manual to have to confirm which it is.
Adrian.

I have control all the the cabels with my multi-meter.
And I can not find any breakes in the cables.
But if the relay is dead, do you kown if Armortek have them in stock?

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
Hi Robert and Adrian
As far as I know Electronize have stopped trading which is a shame because I used to use them in most of my boats.
I maybe wrong but thats what I have heard on the model boat forums.
Regards
Derek

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
Problem solved
It was the yellow nob. It was placed in the middle.
But when I turnd the nob I got movement both ways.
So I put the yellow in position -20 degrees and now it works both ways.
Happy to say that I am still learn something new every day.

Re: Problems with cannon elevation.
Well done.
You might struggle to get eletronise equipment now. But it turns up as second hand stuff on ebay.
There are other manufacturers of similar switchers around on ebay which will do the same job.
You just need to look out for a two channel non retention switcher.
