Armortek owners invited to 1:6 Scale Model Competition

Post by Ade Pitman »

I`d like to invite fellow Armorek owners to the UK 1:6 Scale Collectors Club annual show on Sunday October 14th, in Chepstow, S.Wales.

The show will host the Annual 1:6 Scale Model Competition - the only competition dedicated to this scale in the UK.

Armortek have kindly offered to once again sponsor the 'Best Vehicle' class, by donating a voucher worth 10% off of any Armortek purchase.

I will be covering the show for two UK model magazines, so enter the competition and get your Armortek tank in print.

The Welsh Action Figure Show is to be held at the Severn Bridge Social Club, Chepstow on Sunday October 14th

The only show of its type in Wales, the show is organised by the UK 1:6th Scale Collectors Club. Along with trade stands for both vintage and modern action figures, the show will also include displays of radio-controlled tanks by the UK Tank Club.

The UK 1:6th Scale Collectors Club is active in the support of charities, and this year the Welsh Action Figure Show will be making a donation to Ty Hafan, the children’s hospice in Wales.

Situated just ½ mile from the Severn Bridge, the venue has easy access from the Midlands, Bristol and the South west.

Admission is just £2.00, with concessions for children and visitors that produce a 'Bridge toll ticket'.

The show will open to visitors at 10:00 am. Refreshments are available including an all-day breakfast. The show will close at 3pm.

For further information contact Ade Pitman, 07930874161 or email littledevon@ntlworld.com

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE RUNNING YOUR TANK YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN THIRD PARTY INSURANCE
We look forward to seeing you and your tanks there

Ade, do you think this model would be a valid entry?!

A member of the Kampfgruppe von Abt team who is well known to some of you, Peter Shaw, has scratch built a sixth scale model of the German WW2 Dora rail gun. A little over 35' in length, it is a magnificent model. Click here to view Peter's dairy and photo set on http://www.vonabt.co.uk.

This is certainly a spectacular model as are all the large scale models made by Peter. He just keeps raising the bar and has put a great deal of effort and resources into the models behind the Kampfgruppe von Abt photo shoots, which have been so successfull and an interesting variation on our hobby. I dare say this item will be the subject of a future shoot, that is if you can get Pickfords to move it to the photo shoot!!

Peter needs to open a 1/6th model museum, I am sure it would be a very successful attraction and his model collection is a must see for those interested in WWII

WOW! Peter's Dora rail gun is incredible. Intimidating. My goal is to hopefully assemble the Late Tiger 1 kit when delivered.

It WOULD indeed mate. :D

If you can get it there, we`ll find a (very big) hole for it. I`d also go across the road to the 'bookies' and place a bet on the competition winner.

I`m covering this for two UK modelling magazines, so the competition is a nice chance to get your work in print.

Armortek owners will know at least one of our traders at the show - Lee Sellers, of Newthorpe Models.

I`d like to take this opportunity to thank Mark and Gill for once again sponsoring the 'Best Vehicle' class, the winner of which will recieve a voucher for 10% off of Armortek products.

...............and remember: after the show we`ll be giving a nice rosy check to the Welsh childrens' hospice :D

Good luck all. We look forward to seeing your lovely tanks.
