Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi All,
I've used a strip of 2mm plasticard to glue the fuel tank front to the bin assemblies so the whole lot just lifts on and off now to get to the braking servos. I've done something similar with the battery and No19 set so I can get it all in and out as a block.
Best regards
Dave

Hi All,
Most of the set now fitted, just need the final moulds (hopefully later this coming week) to finish the front floor and a few odd details.
Best regards,
Dave

Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi All,
We are about to start running the final moulds for the Universal Carrier so should have prices to this by the end of the weekend hopefully and start taking orders and deposits next week. The only exception will be the Chore Horse which I still have to make.
It is going to be a main central kit with all the standard parts then some extra sets like seats, radio, stowage as detailed below. As some people have already bought the Armortek set we wanted to keep it as flexible as possible for people but still practical for us. The main set will contain all the new metal parts so a few items may not be used depending what version you build but we didn't want to be picking odd bits and pieces off moulds
Below are the new sets and parts from our existing range that are suitable for the Carrier.
AP045-UK BRITISH WEBBING BUCKLES (50681)
AP046-UK BRITISH WEBBING END TABS (50682)
AP166-US US PYRENE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
AP191-UK WWII 2 GALLON PETROL TIN
AP217-UK BRITISH WWII VEHICLE TOW HITCH
AP278-US DELCO BATTERY WITH 2 TERMINAL CLAMPS - These are for the front bin if you want to add them, the battery in the back is part of the set
AP295-UK BRITISH RATION BOX, 2 MEN 1 DAY
AP296-UK CASE SPARE VALVES FOR No19 SET
AP317-UK BRITISH 4" SMOKE DISCHARGER
AP322-UK WIRELESS SET No19
AP323-UK BOX SPARES 5C FOR NO19 SET - Extras if required. One is included on the radiator mould
AP324-UK BREN GUN 100RD MAGAZINE AND ADAPTER
AP325-UK BREN LEATHER MAGAZINE BAG
AP326-UK LEE ENFIELD RIFLE WITH CANVAS BREECH COVER
AP327-UK UNIVERSAL CARRIER SEAT PAD SET
AP328-UK UNIVERSAL CARRIER CAMO NET BAG - CAST RESIN
AP329-UK UNIVERSAL CARRIER MAIN DETAIL SET
AP330-UK CHORE HORSE - BATTERY CHARGING SET
AP331-UK UNIVERSAL CARRIER DEEP WADING BRACKET SET
Best regards
Dave

Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi All,
While waiting for more resin stocks I have managed a couple of evenings back on the carrier. Got the rear axle done, motion pack bench tested and installed. Ready for some track trials this weekend before I start fitting detail parts permanently and putting all the missing fixings in I skimped to get the body together quickly
With some of the issues raised on the forum I have made sure everthing slid smoothly with rounded edges etc. I also eased the edge of the axle housing and the outer edge of the brake pad so there were no square edges to catch. I am not sure for the instruction pics if the servo arm cap heads should have nuts fitted but as they screw into the arm I have just used them as pins and it all seems to work OK. Quick video below.
I have also now glued in the floor plates and added the rest of the detail to them.
Best regards
Dave

Thanks Dave, I think I know where I went wrong now. Nice clear pictures. I do love the driver/gunners compartment details.

Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi All,
Ran it this afternoon and all seems Ok but do need to take a couple of links out as tracks too slack. The brakes have stuck a couple of times but I just flick the brake off the other way. They seemed better after a bit of running so think they will bed in. Track slew is working and have on the throttle stick for fine control when driving straight. Only issue I am having is with the sound and the Flysky FS-16 transmitter. I have watched a number of YouTube vids on setting them up as the instructions leave quite a few significant gaps
but do not have the aux setup option in the menu they all show? I currently have the sound running on the 4th stick channel which is a pain as often turn it off when braking and then it seems to lose connection till I turn everything off and back on again. Any RC experts out there got any ideas?
Best regards
Dave

Does the Flysky not have a 3 position switch Dave ? I have modified quite a few Flysky txs to 12 pos encoder of my own design also you could convert one of the pots to 3 position switch with a couple of resistors.

Hi Dennis,
Yes, has the 3 position switch, 3 other 2 position ones and 2 rotarys and apparently you should be able to configure which channels these are allocated to. Only problem is when I go onto the setup screen the one before factory reset that should be aux channels is missing????????
Cheers
