Re: Armorteks next model
It think the FT is a great choice as well! We have the Mark 1 WWI tank, and Rolls armored car! The FT-17 is a great choice. I'm still trying to save my pence for a E8 Sherman and Hetzer.

Re: Armorteks next model
For many years I have been fascinated by the schwerer panzerspähwagen acht-rad (8 wheel heavy armoured car) predominantly operated by the Panzer aufklärungs abteilung from the early Sd.Kfz.231/232 to the later more advanced Sd.Kfz.234 series the latter has lead to the development of most modern day 8 wheeled armoured cars.
The Sd.Kfz.234 series first made its appearance in 1944, the first being the Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma which was used to predominantly equip the Panzer aufklärungs abteilung taking over from the earlier Sd.Kfz.231/232 and Sd.Kfz.222/223, with a number of Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma serving in Normandy.
Lets see if we can get some serious interest in this vehicle, which I think would make a popular addition to the Armortek range, I also think Armortek would be able to do this model justice with its all wheel steering and 4 versions that could be built, the Sd.Kfz.234/4 could easily be converted using Armorteks Pak40 kit.

Sd.Kfz.234/3, 7.5cm Stummel

I agree Mark, that would be a massively cool model in 1/6. One which I would have to buy. I have friend who made several from scratch in metal - the drive train and 8 wheel steering would definitely be an engineering marvel and challenge!

Read Richard Overy's "Why the Allies Won" to see some of the insanity that went into the German production decisions from 1936- until roughly 1943 when Speer took over.
Amazing technology. But as Stalin was quoted as saying (I think he did not say it... he was not a deep thinker...) Quantity has a quality all its own.
The German Supply Chain and Wonder Weapons ruined any chance they had of a negotiated peace with significant territorial gains.
This 8-wheeled engineering bit of wizardry played right into that poor-decision-making-tree that, fortunately, left us in a world where we could build Armortek kits of silly German Armored cars.
Merry New Years!
Cheers,
RPR

If the FT17 doesn't float Armortek's boat then you can always build your own:

Re: Armorteks next model
I actually have a 1:1 scale Polish Pattern Armoured car on a 1915 Model T Ford Chassis just awaiting paint.
Not as fun as an FT17 full size. But runs and drives.
Will be on the road (and for sale, probably) this spring.
It is pretty cool!

Hi Guys
It would be nice to see an updated version of the 222 with a better gun and turret.

Derek

A functional anti-mine flail for the Sherman!
It could do double duty as a roto-tiller in my garden or dispatch overly aggressive weeds in the corner...

Yes. I gather from my contacts that a Haynes Manual for CVR(T) has been written but that sadly it may be one of the last to be published.Charles A Stewart wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 11:02 pmWith respect and succinctly: CVR(T), et al. Saves endless repetition.

Re: Armorteks next model
I´m still one for an Sd.Kfz 10.
The nice thing is you can build some variants.

with 2cm Flak 30

other variant with the 2cm Flak 38

with Pak 36

and the Pak 38
And the best, quickly packed in the trunk or back seat for a quick ride outside because it´s so small.
But the main reason is, it's just a beautiful cabrio. If that's not a reason!?

And bevor i forget, see all the happy Drivers!

What a nice Halftrack and how good the Steering feels, great!

Fun in the Mud! Yeah!

And look...how much fun the officer is having!
Be a happy driver with a Sd.Kfz 10!
