Post by yves mouton »

Hello,

Elevation not working on the stug, dont know which cable to connect?
And from module B there is a wire thats not in use that you have also to connect to the receiver??

Also another question is there also a few connections that you can use for lights an GM gun .

All the rest is working ok.

Module B is quite simple, in that it has power in, two RC inputs and two power outputs. Each RC input controls one of the outputs.

If both sides are not used in the StuG, then you will have one RC input and one Power Output spare.

Have you tried using the other RC input lead and seeing if that operates the elevation ?

Hello,

Still a elevation problem, the elevation motor needs a little help to put the barrel up and down,
if i dont help the slew servo schock from left to right?
If i pull out the white wire out of the receiver ( the one from the 24v to 6v) that comes from the powermodule
the schock effect on the slew servo is gone, but than the left and right movement from the slew dont work anymore,
and the up and down still needs help?

I saw a movie from a first generation stug (the one with the
limit switches on ) that the barrel is working fine up and down.

Is there someone that have the same problem with the elevation?

I could drill out the armored block of the gun to reduce the weight?

Hello,

Motor control B, wy are there no limited switchses on the elevation of the gun in the stug?
Dos the motor control B work as a curent limiter to detect if the motor is on his end position?

Is it possible to change the elevation motor the stronger one?

Best regards Yves

Hi Yves
Is the elevation without the motor easy to move up and down.
Could it be that the elevation is screwed to hard together with the 2 bolts
cheers

A couple of suggestions

Maybe a counter weight could help if there is room for it

Do you run the motor on 24v

What happens if you feed the motor directly from the battery. Remember to put in a fuse between batteries and elevation motor before trying this
cheers

Hello Steen,

I will test this today in the afternoon with a friend he has a electric powor suplay system that you can change in volt.
I can also try like you said to put a counter weight on it ( normaly it have to work without a counter weight) i saw a movie
from the first generation stug and the elevation works fine. There is not much room to put a counter weight in,
i can also drill out the heavy barrel block in combination with a counter weight. On my panther i use springs to help the motor
elevation. If i only try to use a counter weight it has to be at least 2kg ( test this to balance the barrel )

Best regards Yves

In your photo, bottom right corner is a small light brown disk like component very similar to a ceramic capacitor. That is called a thermistor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermistor) and is doing the job of the micro-switches.
Is it possible to change the elevation motor the stronger one?
Yes it's possible but might not eliminate the current problem you have at the moment.

The elevation mechanism looks to be similar to the one I have. Did you check that the brass thingy (that moves up and down in those two curved slots) actually moves freely and smoothly? I had to do some fettling on mine.

Hello Vince,

Yes the brass piece slide free into the two curved slots that is not the problem.
We changed the gearbox from the original motor wich is 18/1 with another gearbox wich is 60/1
This seems to work better but still isn't strong enough to do the trick.
The next thing we gonna do is order a new motor with a ratio 100/1 wich should be strong enough but will loose a bit in speed of traveling.
This will not be visible because the troubles the motor still has to raise the gun will be compensated with the strenght the Motor GS38 0100 has and should have the power to do this smoothly.

Regards Yves & Sven for a change (Long time ago ;-))
