Preston Docks Photo's & a couple of video's

Post by Antony Rowley »

Hi All,

Some photo's from a very enjoyable and tiring day at Preston Docks one of our temporary running grounds while we negotiate a permanent site  Thanks to Richie for finding the site and Lisa for the very tasty bacon rolls and coffee :D :D

Another view of Richie's trackless Tiger. It amazes me how these tanks still go in a straight line even without one track. That doesn't happen in video games, you just go round and round.

My Panther after a quick hose down.

Thanks Antony

Hi Antony

Your very welcome on the food. Ace photos :P , had a great day :P , its a shame Paul and Vinnie couldn't make it. I couldn't beleive when I got to the incline and the link snapped!! :( had to come back down a hill with no track  , but thats just my luck!!.

I think I'm going to take my tracks off and root out the ones that arn't drilled in the centre, as it seems these are the ones that are snapping.

Hi guys

Lisa said your welcome  ,and thanks to paul for drying !!!!!

I think it was a bad idea going across the stones and mud back to the cars  if we go again, be better to park at the top near the car dealers  and stick to the hills and hollows :P
but was good fun :P

Hi Clive

Just washed mine off tonight after work (its a long story) mine was also full of the gritty mud and stones. It was a bad mistake going across that, I'm definately going to stick to the hills and hollows.

Well the 222 drove a lot better when the ground had thawed a little and it did not suffer from any jams or brakages. When the ground was frozen hard the little 222 realy struggled to move and was stopped by fairly small obstacles, My 222 has a centre diff filled with putty and stoppages seemed to be due to a lack of traction from the tyres and not a loss of drive to the wheels when one lifts clear of the ground(1 wheel off the ground at the front and spinning no drive to the other front wheel, both back wheels in contact with the ground and spinning due to lack of traction). hope that makes sence :?
Further testing required and i may lock out both the front and rear diffs in the future.
