Thanks Guys,

I will send a message to Kian.

The servo for the recoil is the one sent out which has an arm.

All the module units appear to be the new ones.

Will let you know what happens.

In the meantime it’s carry on with the build. 👍

Hi Gents, I'm using the DX8 TX/RX system in my chieftain. Had a right carry on with setting up the channel allocation and control system. After many hours of trail & error. which included a run away turret, erratic track control and sound effects..

The solution that worked for me is decided what TX controls you want to operate the model. Disconnect Motion module B from the receiver. Now set up just the Hull options, track control, & sound. warning I had to swap around the drive motor connections left to right, also reverser the motor connections on one motor. Reset your sound system, Warning there is a hidden delete file option sequence on the set button. Armortek were not aware of this, until I had the problem. Once you are happy with the hull control options, ( give it a run up & down the street).

Now plug in module B to the selected RX channels. you must have both the Turret turn & elevation options fully plugged in before testing. Do not try to allocate TX switch options with Module B plugged in, it causes a mixing miss match error. I cant say why, that's out of my pay grade, lol.

Its the old school way, but it worked, now I'm a happy teddy cracking on with my build

Hi Dave, I too ended up the same if you’ve read this post, I am more than happy with module a and audio they work great.
When I add module b and recoil that’s when the fun stops. Module a stops working and the gun just recoils permanently!

I have sent Kian an email so fingers crossed.

Glad yours is up and running.

Hi Andy,
Sounds like you do not have the 2 recoil limit switches adjusted correctly. They are critical to proper function and very sensitive.

Hi Tom, where are the switches located, I was under the impression that it would only recoil if the gun was”fired” with the 3 position toggle switch.

They come in the recoil option pack. You have to mount them to the firing mechanism. Granted mine is a Panzer, but, I assume they are all the same.

Hello Andy, I may have missed something here...if you have the new 'red' modules, the recoil is limited by the amount of servo arm movement....Mick

Hi Mick, yes I have the new red one. There is no issue with the servo arm travel it’s just that once it’s all wired in as soon as I turn the power unit on it starts recoiling! Only stops when you turn the power unit off. I did think this plug and play was going to be a bit easier to work out 😂. Andy

I have the new red units too.
The switches mount one at the servo and one at the cam. They are part number CPO204 in my Panzer kit. When you trigger the canon it releases the switch to start the serve moving. It closes when the servo returns. The switch at the cam stops the movement at the proper location. Both have adjustable positions and are very sensitive as to their proper location. Requires a lot of fiddling to get things working just right. Again this is for a Panzer so check with Armortek to see it is the same for your model.

Hi Tom, I wish it was that simple, it doesn’t come with those switches just the red module which you can’t get into because of warranty.

On a plus I now have turret turn and elevation as well as drive.

Okay,

After an email with a Kian I am half way 80% there, I now have drive on both tracks in the correct directions and I also now have turret turn and elevation with it.
My only issue now is when I connect the recoil up as it starts ‘recoiling’ none stop until it’s turned off and whilst it is on the turret and barrel do what they want and the drive doesn’t work.

But I am 80% there 😁

All now sorted.

I have followed the wiring in the booklet to the t with the exception of switching over the rx leads for the tracks.

I was having issues with module b and the recoil but I sorted module b this afternoon, don’t ask how because I have no idea I have tried all possible wire combinations to the rx and with the wiring ending up as it started (less recoil connected) it began working. I have noticed that at full depression it can stick which is due to alignment.

When I connected the recoil as per instructions it was constantly running but with no flash. Again I tried all wiring combinations ( I had read elsewhere about cutting the red wire) but nothing seemed to sort it, one moment it didn’t work the next it did.

Kian suggested connecting to audio output 2 from recoil input 1 Nothing happened but when I connected to audio output 3 hey presto!

I now have fully functioning electrics.

I have also wired the lights and await the cupola search light.

I can now get on with the build.

Many thanks for your advice and pointers.....we got there in the end 👍👏
