Armortek Pak 40

Post by tim catton »

At last, I've finished my Armortek Pak40. I bought it last year as soon as it was released, but have only now finished it. (except for the weathering, which I'll do later on).
Some of the upgrades I have made myself, and will make to order, (I will make further postings on this later), others I have cannibalized from another model.

Tim, a real pleasure to soak up the skill and finesse which you’ve brought to this model. Thanks for posting. Not having a PAK (hasn’t got tracks), I’m only guessing at what you’ve added or replaced but as with all good scale models, the eye is drawn in by the detail as you see more and more. Looking forward to seeing it weathered, when the rather sterile appearance will transform into an operational weapon. Al the best. Stephen

Cracking job Tim. Put me down for a detailing set when you start producing them!

Beautiful job on the PAK. Super details! Will your upgrades complement those by Dave (Armorpax)? IE yours and his combined to make a super detail set? Either way. lovely work - great reference for the rest of us "in process".

Bob,

I will post the upgrades that I am making shortly. From what I have seen of Dave’s posts we should not clash too much. Hopefully we will make different things in different ways.

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim - must congratulate you on this superb build and detailing. Magnificent! I'm nearly finished on a PAK 43 but have a question for you. Where can one acquire M3 castle nuts like you have used on the gun shield? I've looked everywhere but with no joy. Don't really feel like having to make them by hand or by building up standard nuts! Hope you can help.
Best regards from France

Steve Winstone and Mark Lawson to sell them. Look in the Craftsmen Market section.

Hi,
I’m afraid that I had to make them up from standard nuts.
Not ideal, but better than not doing them.
Best wishes
Tim
