Panther owners poll - Who would be interested?

Post by Robert E Morey »

Could I see a show of <Internet> hands of those that would be interested in a kit for an early Panther exhaust kit? I would like to know who would be interested before I commit to this undertaking, as making these parts is very time consuming <I don't outsource anything>. The kit would consist of two early exhaust housings (white metal castings), two pipe adapters (white metal), two exhaust pipes (brass tube and white metal castings), and two brass brackets (similar to those shown below but without the jack in center. They would be two independant brackets). The kit would also work on the Jagdpanther kit.

My target price for the kit would be approx $300 US, and I know this isn't cheap, but the amount of work is extensive to make these kits- hence the survey first. If I get enough interest I will undertake these to be available this summer.
Thanks,
Bob

Here's an update on the Panther exhaust kit. I will have 5 - 10 sets available shortly. Still have a few parts to make. The exhaust housing is a very heavy casting, the texture looks like the real thing - no surfacing necessary! All cast parts are lead free pewter type alloy. Other parts will be brass tube, screws etc. Let me know if you have questions or to express interest. bobmorey2@yahoo.com

Bob they look stunning!

Spot on the real thing - Well done!
High class item as always from you and saves me a lot of time making my own ones.
Count me in for a pair please.

One question:
Are the guards pre drilled to allow smoke to come out from them?
Assume they are but can’t see the rear of them

Thanks for the comments guys! :D Yes Kent the housing is hollow on the underside, so they will work with smoke units! The pipe tips are two piece so they are also hollow and will function like the real pipes.

Thought I would post a photo of the painted cast Panther exhaust housings to show the cast texture. They came out well, the effort to texture the master paid off I think.

Got my set today and they look even better live :D

Thanks Bob for making these early ones available for us building the early Ausf G (they sat also on early Jagdpanther and late in war also sometimes on late Panthers and Jagdpanthers, hint, hint...)

This pair with Steve’s boxes will certainly give my Panther a nice looking behind

Cheers
