It's slimy, sticky and smells bad but works really well for what it's supposed to do

And that's the state Gunther was in when I took him to the largest Scale Model Show in The Lowlands @Goes

I always and ONLY use Vallejo Acrylic Matt Varnish (left on the photo). It never failed me. But at the model show NOBODY had any in stock!

Given the fact that I use AK Interactive products a lot too, I bought two cans of their varnish...




OMG! This is 'protective'?!?


Can you see if this acrylic? Most likely not...


It leaves a finish that's pretty rough. I wonder how 1/35 scale modellers handle this?

I stopped using these and ordered cans of Vallejo Acrylic Matt Varnish on the internet

Maybe hard to see but the arrows indicate the border between an area that had a wash applied to it, then wiped off (left) and an area without (right).

The tools were excellent aftermarket tools but white metal, no real wood handles.

I wanted to see a little more grain in the wood:

When It was dry, I simply sanded it again with the sanding machine haha!

At this point I started working on the body (finally!)

Away with the dots!


Hmmm my lack of patience, skills or subtlety shows off here, you can clearly see where I removed the dots - like a brute! I just blame my dremel.

on the top engine hatch there were x2 countersunk allen headed screws which you have filled, the purpose of these x2 screw on the real Panther is to lock the engine hatch closed, on the real tank they has square head as opposed to allen head this is the same with the turret rear escape hatch realistically you should not have filled these holes the same with the centre of the escape hatch.

the tools on the Panther are from Armourpax, although they come with white metal cast handles it is possible to make your own from wood, although painted as you have they look better than replacement wooden handles as its not possible to buy wood with scale grain.

I really like what you have done with the Panther, it looks very impressive and you are also an inspiration to model builders.
