Alfredo, do you have any photos of your tank and steering system, I would be very interested to see what it looks like. I´m sorry to hear you had some difficulties and prefer the elctric motors.

Petrol (gas) engine is a challange, especially the steering system and I could write about some of my experiences with my petrol driven 1/8 Tiger II if somebody is interested.

I'm sorry but I have not jet the Panther's photos because I'm waiting for it (I've payed for it next Monday) and I'll get it in 4-6 weeks (it arrives from USA).
I 've not even picture about steering system; what I've found are some photos on the web but I've never copied them (I'll do it in the future).
I think it's really valuable -not only for me, I suppose- read and see about your experiences.

Many thanks for those lovely photos, I know of this model since it was introduced in early 2000. Here´s some photos of the prototype from year 2000;









instead of changing gears (forward and reverse) as on your model with a servo the prototype had electric motors with end switches. I guess servos was much easier and faster.

You say that the some gears was broken - would that be the bevel gears that I marked with an A in your photo below?





Instead of moving the gears, you should modify the steering gearbox by introducing a dog clutch, that is having the bevel gears in constant mesh and move a dog clutch with the sevo. This will save the bevel gears from damage but will not change the behaviour of the steering system as it will be jerk everytime you change direction (forward /reverse).

You said that you had problem with the Winson 50 cc engine as well, what kind of problem is that?

the engine was included in the kit of Modelworks, there is no indication about the manufacturer; only the Electronics ignition in from
www.ch-ignitions.com made in USA
The electric starter motor is from Litton, Clifton Precision made in UK.
Sorry, but I am not able to say more.

Finally, hi Per
you are right, the bevel gears was damaged and the best solution is to use clutch as you suggest, but I dont know if I will do it.
The Tiger will remain a static model.
The problems with the engine regarded the Electronic ignition and probably my ignorance of such engines.
In my small experience and for my ability, I prefer electric motors and suspensions with torsion bar.

Dear All
Thank you for looking my Jagd panther photos.
Tank is still making progress.
The moving part of the Gun is being remodeled now.
For do not hit an internal mechanism.

Your doubt is answered first.
Deff is HPI Baja5B.
Engine is OS IL-300.

It was necessary to select Deff and the engine before it began Jagd Panther.
Therefore we bought HPI Baja5B and tested it.
We are playing very rough handling with Baja.
After that many parts broken, include dog bone bent.
But Deff was no problem.
After these test run, we decided 2 things.
Can use Baja Deff for 1/6 Tank.
Never use large exhaust single Gas power engine (too match vibration)
Finally we chose OS IL-300 4 cylinder Nitro power engine.

May be first test run about 2 month later.
I will report after success running.
