In the good old days, before switching on. you checked the Crystal peg board, obtained the peg with your frequency. and sailed with relative security.

If your frequency "Peg" wasn't there, well "tuff" you were not allowed to switch on, and you had to wait or change your frequency crystals to a free channel.

You did get the odd numbty who would belligerently switch on and cause a scene, but on the whole no real problems.

These day's with so many different systems, it's all gone to pot, a free for all. 2.4ghz was supposed to solve problems not make more of them.

It seemed to start with cheap Planet sets, now you have dilly doppling, frequency hopping, hoopy, pooping, super transitioning microwaving. It's enough to make you wonder if there's a Big C Risk?

As for worrying about receiver voltage, I've got bigger problems if the main 24v batteries can't supply the BEC

Well, I remember the 'good old days' back to valve R/C components in the early fifties, when you had to adjust your frequencies (high land low) before every mission, and I'm not at all convinced that this was the better life!

Today I bring my model to the air field / battle ground, welcome my friends, put my R/C on and can fly or drive. No thought about channels, crystals, adjustment and so on. My transmitter tells me if there comes any obstacle like almost empty batteries, and I can enjoy the day!

Pure sunshine? Nearly! At home when composing and programming the electrical equipment, THEN can occur the one or other little surprise where some components will not play together. Reading the component's quick guide (only 200 pages or so  ) will help to solve the problem, and swift I can go on......
kind regards
Gerhard

Well Gerhard, at least you knew your valve set would keep your hands warm while out in the cold.

I just think for a few brief years 2.4ghz was a winner, now the market is flooded all manner of transmissions. I've witnessed interference on a few types of systems or was it pilot error? .........easy

A real transmitter, the wonderful simple expandable F14 :D

What a transmitter should look like, not too big, not too small. lots of quality knobs, sliders and switches to fiddle with. :P

A glint from the chromed ariel wafting in the air, a green flag fluttering in the breeze ensures (you hope) your command of the frequency.

The good old days.

I know all this new equipment is better than we had in the 70's 80's and 90's, but one cannot wonder if there might be problems to be encountered in the near future.

There used to be rules, you had to have a licence, you had to comply with wattage and frequencies, now it's just a free for all.

I suppose in the future, telepathic transmitters will become to be the norm, (Think Russian, Think Russian). Never quite understood FireFox

Me , flick the switch and pull the trigger. How difficult can it be.

Keep it simples and you can't go wrong.

Hi Armortek

Don't loose the instructions. oh no.

Some of these new fangled transmitters won't let you just switch on and off........... Simple's.

No, with an annoying beeping noise, some of the new transmitters will have you having to have all the switches and pots off, or was it on? while spinning to the east, bending over backwards.

Very inscrutable, just like the completely alien batteries on some and "Pigeon English" instructions on others.

Of course these days you can always phone a blogging friend on "You tube"

Please check the new gear with old gear too.

Remember, There's a lot of "Old Tanker's" set in their ways.

I installed it on my Chieftain using the Fysky FS-i6X transmitter and iA10B 10-channel receiver to ensure that it works well so far.
The functions identified so far are the driving function of the module controller A using the right stick of the transmitter in mode 2 and the sound function using the three position switch.
The function of the module controller B using the remaining left-hand stalk has not been verified until now.
I'll check all this functionality later and then share the results.

The radio I use is flysky FS-i6X and iA10B, using 10 channels

The characteristics of this radio that I have felt over the past few days have confirmed that the transmitter and receiver have two-way communication with respect to the signals at all times.

As evidence of this, if I connect the motion controller B and the receiver's channel No. 3 and No. 4 and do not connect the motors controlled by the motion controller B at the same time, using the channel No. 1 and No. 2 confirmed that a pattern malfunction occurred during the signal processing process of the transmitter.

However, if you connect the motors to Motion Controller B, or if I remove the power from Motion Controller B, there was no malfunction between the transmitter and the receiver in front.
And this radio can put this fail-safe function on all 10 channels, and this is an intrinsic function.
I set up failsafe function on channel 1 and channel 2.
Because I was very surprised to implement a deliberate error in the transceiver without deliberately hanging a failsafe to find out the danger of this function.
It saw my Chieftain keep rushing and shut off the power in a hurry.
And I put fail safe on channel 1 and channel 2. The fail-safe feature is required.

Channel 5 controls sound card and recoil.
I pay dividends and use it well.
However, because I have not yet completed the turret, I don't know the problem of using the entire channel at the same time.
I will complete it as soon as possible and share it.

Best Regards
Youngjae

Youngjae,

I would put failsafe on all channels if I was you. Nearly all radio gear has had failsafe on all channels for quite a few years now. It only used to be on channel 3 the throttle channel, which for tank users was a waste of time. The radio gear has to have 2 way communication in order to bind the tx to the rx, it has been like this since 2.4 ghz came out.
