T34 Film

Post by John Clarke »

Newish Russian film out. T34
Without the usual depressing soviet story lines.
entertaining yes, a little far fetched yes.
Some real tanks, some simulated tanks, lots of CGI,
Think great escape live action in the world of tanks.
Oh yes and "Jason Statham's Death Race" and a nod to James Bond "Diamonds are for ever"..... well nearly.
Popcorn stuff, worth a look.
Oh Man, I only ride em I don't know what makes them work,

I agree a bit far-fetched ( story-line ) but I watched it about 4 months ago and found it reasonable viewing.
I would suggest watching it with sub-titles rather than a dubbed version. Although I could understand the german, having to read the sub-titles for those actors speaking in Russian made it more realistic and enjoyable for me.If it had have been a dubbed version with the "germans" speaking english with a german accent and the "russians" speaking english with a russian accent, I would likely have switched off after the first five minutes.

Brief synopsis of film.
T34-76 crew defend Russia before tank being knocked out and being taken prisoner.
Germans knock-out a T34-85.
Prisoners tasked with making the T34-85 operational again for the germans to use as a live target on their training area, with them crewing it.
T34-76 crew, now in a T34-85, manage to defeat the germans and get away.

Spoiler alert Mark..............anyway you forgot the alternative ending :D

Unless I fell a sleep for a few seconds (unfortunate shift work habit when watching films) where did that grenade come from?

Still a fun film.
