WSRA Vintage Fayre and Steam Rally

Post by Adrian Harris »

A couple of shots of our pitch at the West Somerset Railway Association show at Norton Fitzwarren this weekend.

I'm sure Holger will have taken better pictures of us but I thought I'd get these on line.

Thanks once again to Denny for the organisation, food and drink :D

Slight panic when the Cent BL lost one of the clevis pins from the bridge cross stay but, after we'd all searched for it on and off throughout the day, David B found it in the grass just as we were packing up. I've found a supplier for them, so will be ordering a bunch of spares

Just found this video of us at the show:

Skip to 28:35 unless you're a fan of military vehicles, steam engines and tractors

Unfortunately, they picked the one time when the recovery was going really slowly, hence I'm shown nonchalantly wandering over to check the hydraulic pressure gauge.

Adrian,
Many thanks for posting and of course top marks to Denny for arranging attendance at another really great event. Plenty of variety of exhibits to see and stalls selling everything from toys to tractor parts and most importantly a good cup of tea to accompany some superb sponge cake - Denny please pass on the appreciation.
Hopefully Holger has had better success with his pictures, Adrian you seem to have captured the one moment when some of us were tricked into thinking it was just about to rain, hence the models under the green tarpaulin and my tanks making a hasty retreat into the tent.
Unfortunately my efforts with the camera were worse, with it locking up after only one photo – nevertheless included below to show that there was also plenty of blue sky as well.
