Re: Novice Late Tiger Build.
I've managed to get out on the bike today as the weather is half decent,so not done much on the tank.
I'm going to collect a Stug 1V on Sat with a friend of mine.I was going to have it but he is better suited to do the necessary work on it.Its a converted Armortek Panzer 1V but the upper hull has been made in plastic. Its already stripped and the guy were collecting it from is providing all the sheets to complete the upper hull in Aluminium.

Re: Novice Late Tiger Build.
One of these is a Tank,Heavy,Expensive to produce,Noisy and uncomfortable, and not particularly reliable. The other is a 6th scale Late Tiger 1.

Re: Novice Late Tiger Build.
I've got some fancy stuff off of John of this forum,Steve Winstone, and Dave from Armorpax.
I shall visit Villiars Bocage and find Michael Wittmans grave but I may also visit the French Tank Musium.Ill put a couple of pics up if I find anything interesting.
Glen.
I've got the armoured mg34 barrel off Armorpax,it's a bit heavy and over balances the gun but that can be sorted.I sprayed it Satin Black the detailed it with a gun metal and silver oil type thing.Steve Winstones stuff is exquisite and I want everything he makes.....but I'm going to Normandy on Sunday and I'm possibly looking at changing the Busa for a BMW GS 1250 when i get back (its an age thing.)so I need to curb my spending.I shall visit Villiars Bocage and find Michael Wittmans grave but I may also visit the French Tank Musium.Ill put a couple of pics up if I find anything interesting.

Re: Novice Late Tiger Build.
I am fortunate enough to be in Normandy at the moment. My allocated room number is .....
I also visited a cemetery, something I have done quite often in Normandy. I may go to the French Tank museum. But it's weather and fitness dependant,it's a 440 mile round trip on a motorbike so we shall see.

Re: Novice Late Tiger Build.
I managed to get to the French Tank Museum. It was 42deg so a bit warm even on a motorbike. Its an interesting place,They have got the only running King Tiger in the world I believe.
Their Tiger 1 was interesting....it had Transport tracks and a strange combination of Tiger 1/King Tiger exhaust setup on it. Now I've seen how untidy the Zimmerite is on the Tiger I'm quite happy how my Zimm is.
I've got a couple of pics for comparison, same dopy grin, same sunglasses different Tiger, although both late models. Another thing I noticed was the Camoflage carries on through the spare track links...interesting.I wonder how realistic that is.

We did Vince, the last 2 years I've been we have been lucky with the weather. In this photo it looks like me and my friend with the Multistrada have fallen out,we haven't.At this point the temperature was 41 deg or 112 deg in English money.

Re: Novice Late Tiger Build.
The only thing I bought at the open day on Sunday was this little cutey...
Fortunately for me the new kit announced yesterday was too big for me,I was hoping for a Stug 3.Kian asked if I had turned up on one of my bikes but not so as I had the Tigger with me.But I have just bought myself some German medium machinery, which I suppose will be a good substitute for the Stug at the moment.
I'd like to say thank you to Kian,Monique and every body else who made yesterday such an enjoyable day out.
