Very nice collection of after-market parts.

Would love to know the provenance of the MG.

Is the rifled tube from across the pond?

Vince
Vince,

The MG34 is Dragon and we got it new on eBay Bought it for about £50 if I remember correctly. They do a cheaper plastic one but its not as durable. The vendor was here in the UK

Hope that helps!

Phil

Thanks Phil and Phil for the info.

Will be interesting to see (when you get to it) if the rifled insert is a good fit with the inside of the barrel.

Hi Phil I will be following your build with interest. I'm late to the game (your thread) because you work so fast. Are you planning on lowering the rear deck plate and rear deck?

Best regards, Bob

There's a long way to go with the fender kits, sooo many small parts but beautifully reproduced.

Up date, the nice cloth and metal gurtsack and superb ammo belt is on order. The oh so intricate rear fenders, the fixings are about as small as I want to work with. There are no extra of the tiny rivets so you have to be careful that one doesn't "ping off" and just a couple spare of the .80 countersunk screws, I must say that the screws are of very good quality, this helping the location of the nut on the thread for the first time.

That's a m3 standard hex for comparison, the fixing must be very close to the correct scale size.

If you take your time rolling the hinges very carefully you should end up with a near perfect functional fender.

The cross heads on the hinge mounts will be hidden under zimmerit. The fender hold up arms can't be fitted until I have installed the upper hull sides.

As the Tiger will spend most of it's time in a museum I have left the fender hinge pins long by just enough to be able to conveniently remove them for general manoeuvring of the vehicle ( as they are very delicate) they can then remain intact and replaced for exhibition.

Hi Phil,

sorry don't know the factory of these nice parts. Would you tell me please ;)
Florian,

The detailing parts were sourced from the following manufacturers:-

The Late Mike Stannard (via Martin Diessel)
Armorpax (Dave Dibbs)
Steve Winstone
Mark Lawson
Tim Catton
Field of Armor (USA)
East Coast Armor (USA)

Rather than list every single part and where they came from, if there is a particular item you wish to know about, just let us know.

Back to the big bits for a while. Now I have to think of a way to allow access to the inner hull whilst installing a complete engine bay, radiators, radiator fans , engine, fire wall, fuel tank shield/ducts, smoke system, the associated wiring loom and all the engine bay plates, oh and the speakers.
All this needs to be removable as a unit, at least while I'm working on it..... should be interesting. 8)

A bit more done, I have put off the milliput for as long as I can but must now knuckle down for a marathon of sausage rolling.

A mod that I need to do as the engine bay and the fan drives will cover these important areas, if the idler m6 cap head should pop out it's recess, the whole engine bay would need to be removed, so this simple stainless cap will hold everything secure, the m3 cap is drilled and tapped into the rear plate.
