Weston Air Festival 22-23 Jun

Post by Stephen White »

Superb, sunny seaside festival with thousands attending, constant interest in our stand throughout the day and lots of questions. An air show too although, with the new regulations, you needed binoculars to see the aircraft. So sad to see how our air displays have been emasculated by inappropriate and mis-directed safety measures.

Thanks to Denny Patterson for organising and to Adrian Harris and David Battson for good company and support.

Thanks for the photos.

I see the "hedgehogs" are already in use.

The weather wasn't as kind on Sunday - 8/8ths cloud cover and intermittent light rain from late morning till pack up.

Still loads of people attending and lots of interest in the stand - to the point where we were asked ( very politely ) if we could refrain from running the tanks near the stand opposite as the punters kept looking away when they were trying to talk to them

This was the first (and only) time we saw the Red Arrows clearly - they called the display off after three passes as the cloud base dropped below their safe operating limits :-(

And, I have to say, the birds in Weston are very pretty:
