Early Sherman elevation pinion gear missing

Post by Tim McCarthy »

G’Day
Getting my 1st Generation Sherman M4 back into full working order and need help on the following missing part.
In the turret there is a pinion gear that goes between the motor and the half ring gear teeth, for the elevation.
As per my photos you can see where it is situated.
I am after any info on this part:- size, dimension, any think that might help me find or make one if necessary would be greatly appreciated .
Regards
Tim

According to the Option Pack manual, it's a 24 tooth 0.5 MOD gear from HPC.

Looks to me like you need part number G0.5-24, but I would get confirmation from Armortek before shipping one to Aus

Adrian.

G’day
Have acquired the pinion gear.
I just want to confirm the elevation motor RPM, the current one is not the correct motor and it is driving at 70 PRM which we fear may be a bit quick. I’d be grateful for any feedback.

Tim
