Suggestion for next artillery piece

Post by Steven Ford »

Every man needs a 'Long Tom' and the tractor looks a good subject for 1/6 scale too.

Awesome!

Though I think that a Pheasant would be a pretty easy path to fulfillment... combination of two kits!

Have you guys followed Dave's Build?

Cheers,

That gun is huge (even in 1/6th scale.....)!!
How about the L118 light gun or its American cousin the M119 howitzer? It's a nice little c(k)ompact gun!!

In Germany an original 'Long Tom' is rentable for festivities. It fires blank cartridges and is the unique 'private' cannon in germany which is ready and allowed to operate by leasing (together with operator, of course  ).
kind regards

Of course, there is always this... Atomic Annie! The 1/6th scale tactical nuke projectile detail kit would be quite fun, too!

I like the US M5 3in Anti tank gun. Could be pulled with M3 halftrack.

Correct me if I am wrong but I suspect that quite a lot of the track/suspension set up is Sherman derived - and Armortek already has the designs for that.

I had an Airfix version (I think) of this as a child. The original machine still exists I think.

Obviously Armortek would have to restrict sales to those of its customers with size 15 feet or above (- that's US size 18).

I agree, the US M5 3in Anti tank gun would be a great first towable US artillery piece kit for Armortek to offer. Armortek, please make and I'll order!

Come on guys your all thinking way too small.
For a really impressive artillery piece how about a Gustav Railway Gun.
As 1/6th i5 would be an amazing kit to build.

Just a suggestion.

In 1:35th... it's something like 3 feet long. I bet a 1:6th kit of a railroad gun would be about 20 feet long?

Not that I don't covet the concept! Because well.... railroad gun!

Cheers,
