Pete, On the Panther's turret I had to remove the sides from the base,So I could drill two holes. For the hole down bracket.Since the turret sides angle in making no room for a hand held elec. drill.
So you may want to drill these holes first, before welding turret together.
That is if owner will use the hold down brkt.Good for rough ground.

Hi Dan,
Are you talking about the turret ring, some sort of locking system for the turret? Does the turret come off? Will have to wait till one of the tanks is completed and then make a guide bracket with rollers, will be able to make new holes by drilling from the bottom around the turet ring. Thanks for info.

Gentlemen
A turret clamping arrangement is provided in the motion pack. The clamp fits to the existing turret ring holes and a stud is fitted to the floor. A plastic knob secures the clamp to the stud but allows the normal turret turning. There is no requirement to drill extra holes. This retaining device is only required when driving at speed over very rough terrain, to stop the turret bouncing off.
