Hi Guys
As some of you have asked about which periscopes were used where I am posting this information. This may not ne a 100% correct, but is what I have been able to research so far. I am posting it here as it does relate to items I am offering for sale. I am posting the Tiger and Panther Series in two separate posts as they are both picture heavy.
There are two basic periscopes, the first is a two part periscope which is held together buy the mounts. This I will refer to as type 1. The second periscope is also a two part housing, but both parts are screwed together with a single prism inside, this I will refer to as type 2. Both types of periscopes were used on the Tiger and Panther series. Before going further I need to explain the parts of a complete periscope as many of you ask for them under different names.
Prisms = The glass optics.
Periscope = Housings containing prisms
Periscope Mounts = Bracket, clamps etc that hold the periscopes in place.
Periscope Type 1
This was the first type of periscope used and has two identical housings and prisms that are interchangeable. Two are required for a complete periscope and are held together by the mounts.

Tiger 2 Driver and Radio Op Periscopes. Item TT31 external look only periscope could be used for these.
Sturmtiger Periscopes. Item TT31 external look only periscope could be used for these.
Periscope Type 2

Tiger 1 and 2 Loaders Periscope. Item catalog number TT38
Plans showing positions of periscopes and types.
With all periscopes I recommend using the external look only items unless the interior of the periscope can be seen from the outside. In most cases this is through a hatch with the exception of the Tiger 1 driver and radio op hatches.
Regards
Mike
