SW Model Show - Winter Edition 2018

Post by Armortek »

Today, I've had emails from my daughter in New York (-14 deg C) and a friend in Australia (+35 deg C). Time to believe the UK winter will soon give way to Spring, when thoughts turn to...... model shows.

The Tank Museum will be holding the South West Model Show - Winter Edition on 10-11 Feb. Armortek has a reserved area with running space. I've got five names so far. If you would like to go, could you now please let me know via email to sales@armortek.co.uk or pm? Please indicate whether you'll attend one or both days and let me know your car registration details.

Looking ahead, Tiger Day IX is on 28th April. I've got three names so far. It would help in negotiating space with the Museum to know numbers. If you think you might attend, it would help to have an indication soon.

As for TankFest 2018, we've had some very helpful discussions already with the Museum about relocating our stand and running area and it's looking good, despite the intense pressure on space as the Museum builds the new Conservation Centre. Again, it's never too early to indicate you'd like to attend, particularly as tickets for the public are likely to sell out early. It's also worth considering booking accommodation well in advance.

Roll on the first show.

Happy New Year Steve,

I would like to reconfirm attending Tankmod mod in February, as usual I would like a table for the 222 and would it be possible as usual to deliver our models on Friday, I will forward my car registration later as I'm at work and can't remember the full number.

Regards
Mark

Looking ahead now to the first show, the SW Model Show, Winter Edition, at the Tank Museum, 10-11 Feb.

imageresizer.jpg

I've fourteen names and 22 models booked in so far. It's not too late to add anyone who would like to come. Stars of the show will undoubtedly be the new Rolls Royce Armoured Car and the Elephant, although there will be at least one other long awaited model making its public debut.

Arrival/Registration Advanced notice that the Armortek display area will be in the Tamiya Hall, with entrance via the road running between the Museum and the Library/Archive. Registration will be between 0630 and 0830.

Insurance: Please note that the Tank Museum requires every exhibitor to have personal Public Liability Cover to a minimum value of £5m. SAG Members already have this cover. Lyndon Whittaker of UK Tank Club is investigating upgrading their cover to £5M. If you're insured directly, please ensure you've got the right cover. I may need to submit electronic copies in advance, so please look out for a request, if required.

Car Details: Tim and David - could you please let me have your car registrations?

Curry: The Tank Museum is organising a curry for exhibitors from 1730 on the Saturday. Cost is £9 per head, pre-paid. Would you please let me know if you'd like to go, so that I can let the Museum have firm numbers and reserve an Armortek table. I won't ask for cash at this stage, as there may be a cash option on the day.

Regards

Stephen

I need to get an answer to the Museum quickly in order to make sure we get an allocated Armortek table. Thanks.

Final notes for the SW Model Show, thanks for those who've responded. We will be in a dedicated Armortek area in the Tamiya Hall, with running area.

Tickets: I've sent wrist bands and car passes to Monique, who has kindly agreed to send them out individually. Should arrive by the weekend. I've annotated a couple of car passes for those only staying for the Saturday. Would you please let me have them back before you leave so that I can pass them on to those only coming on Sunday.

Arrival/registration/unloading: On all days, registration will be inside the fire exit at the side of the Museum on Lindsay Road which runs between the Museum and the Archive Library, here:

Registration Point.jpg

Once you've registered and unloaded, please follow the circuit out of the Museum before returning to park in Car Park 4, the gravel car park opposite the main Museum car park. If this is full, there will be overflow parking along the side of the main museum building and Archive/Library. Please ensure you're not blocking any fire exits.

SW Model Show locations 2018.jpg
Timings:

Arrival Sat: 0630-0830 - breakfast available
Curry supper Sat: from 1700
Arrival Sun: 0830-0930
Departure on both days: from 1700
Show public opening times: 10-1700

Insurance: Please make sure you proof of Public Liability Insurance to a minimum of £5M. SAG members already have this. For UKTC members, Lyndon Whittaker has confirmed he has upgraded the club insurance to £5M and will send out new certificates before the show. For those insured elsewhere, please bring your certificates.

Operating Safely: this is the first show of the season in UK. Please have a look at the Guidelines here on the Forum for operating safely at public events, here:

http://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewt ... =34&t=6268

Curry, Saturday evening: Thanks to those who've replied. I've booked six places, as requested. Cost will be £9, payable on the day.

Finally, Chris Fry will be attending with the Elephant and Rolls Royce Armoured Car and will be the main point of contact for enquiries but as ever, we're all on show as Armortek customers. It promises to be an enjoyable show and it'll be good to blow away the winter cobwebs.

For all attending the SW Model Show next weekend. Please send me an electronic copy of your 2018 certificates. I need to get copies to the Tank Museum before the show.
